I came here for some Scandinavian treats that aren't easily (or at all) found in other cafes. My favorite is the princess cake, which consists of a sponge cake mixed with jam and cream, and a green marzipan outer layer. I first came across this from the Great British Baking show, and had a first taste when I was in Stockholm. What a pretentious little coffee shop that has a barista who is eager to take your order but little in the way of making you feel welcome. Plus, the fancy Norwegian coffee and food is simply trendy and not worth the money. Further, who builds a coffee shop and offers one plug outlet, at the bar? Ridiculous. Bring back the "we are here to serve you" coffee from a diner. At least that has character, as this is pure D*** for the DUMBO crowd.
While I was visiting New York from the day I happened to stumble upon FIKA. My cousins from Italy were with me and absolutely loved their espresso. Myself on the other hand had a matcha latte with oat milk, it was one of the best I've had since I started drinking matcha! We were very pleased.
