For the past 6 moths me and my buisness partners been going to this place for steak as its near my office. We were always treated as a regulars there and without any problem, sitting in a back area which called “reserve” except today when we walked inn from the first second we were treated by people that i have never seen there before with absolutely unprofessional and rude attitude. Saying that we can not sit in the back as its all reserved, yet there was only two people in the whole restaurant and literally said “if you guys don't like it there is the door”

This used to be a great place for lunch when AJ was still working. I really love the place and the whole idea of this restaurant but all the employees do is chitchat and not pay attention to their guests. I am really disappointed in their customer service. The food is great but the employees are terrible. A lady came to take my order today which was the beef lunch special and I waited for 30 minutes. I did a quick follow up however one lady realized no one had bothered putting my order in. Now the place is closed. Too bad.

Noticed this location when i was out w my gf one night. Decided to bring my best friend here for his bday. We came for lunch (or early dinner) with 4:30pm rsvp whcih probably wasnt needed since it was early. Staff was SUPER nice and friendly here. It was my best friend's first time so the butcher gave him the break down of the types of steaks and even how he should order it according to his liking. We both got the rib eye, with 3 sides, and salt/pepper fried rice. Tbh i thought the rib eye was not as great as the filet mignon (i had it at their other location) but its probably my fault cos rib eyes are known to be fatty and chewy. It was still cooked to perfection and juicy! we both enjoyed our meal. So sad to hear that this location will be closing soon. They will now have only 2 other locations left as those are the locations that are doing better. Hopefully they continue to be around cos they definitely make good steaks (will make sure i always get filet mignon whenever i go now)!

It was a bit quiet when I first came in for lunch time. Was given the menu promptly and ordered the lunch special Chuck (something). It came with a cup of hearty miso soup, salad (there's dressing on the tables), a plate of warm Japanese rice and of course the steak! It's sizzling when it arrives on your table so I waited a bit (put on the provided plastic bib to prevent oil splatters on my clothes) before pouring the much-needed complement, J steak sauce. It does come to the table, I would say, medium rare, but as it stays on the plate it'll cook. Also you can substitute the corn (default) for any of the other sides! I subbed broccoli. And don't worry if you can't finish because you can take whatever is leftover in a takeout box! Their bathroom is one of a kind though. If you want to know what's up about the bidet craze, here's the place to try it out. I didn't know bidets had a drying feature...there's even a handy infographic sticker on the wall on how to use the bidet.

I have been to this Japanese steak place in Japan, so wanted to try it here in NYC. It was good and quick craving steak which was nice and tender. It is a good place to come one or two people for quick lunch or dinner but definitely not a ideal place for a group to have full dining. It is a fast food steak place.

The lunch menu is a steal. Feels like suburban chain pricing, since it's rare to get a full course steak dinner like this in Manhattan at such a reasonable price. And simply delicious. Even the dinner prices are kinda worth it. Soup: Totally feels aligned with the bone broth trend. A very umami soup with the combination of miso and the beef. Loved that there were so many bits of meat inside, a great way to get you excited for your steak to come. Also, some veggies there too. Salad: Kinda boring. I did appreciate the two salad dressing on the side, both tasty, though the onion was more memorable. Not really worth wasting the stomach space knowing what's coming next. Filet: So delicious! It starts with the presentation of your steak resting on a sizzling griddle (think Chili's fajitas) with onions and veggies of your choice. Then you pour over some steak sauce, which bubbles up in quite a showy manner. The process also helps reduce the sauce a bit, so it's nice and thick for dipping. A generous pour of sauce can get a bit salty, but live a little (and drink lots of water)! The steak itself was cooked precisely to my medium rare request and was uber tender. Even more amazing when drenched in the steak sauce. Pepper Rice: Reminds me of dolsot bibimbap, but with no veggies or eggs. After snapping your photos, let the server mix the flavored rice and meat together on the hot pan. Definitely recommend having some steak sauce mixed in too. Then let it rest a bit as you devour your main course. Eventually it will get that crispy rice bottom you need to scrap off with a metal spoon. Definitely worth the patience. Mashed Potatoes: Very creamy. Very smooth. Very indulgent. Just when you think your steak experience can't get better, you shovel your first spoonful of this buttery and peppery mound into your mouth.

My second time trying this place, definitely better experience second time around. Before I rate the place, just an FYI that I am not a meat eater especially when it comes to beef because I don't like the beefy taste. I got the assorted steak cube and wanted well done (I know I know I know...steak taste the best when it's medium rarely when you can still see the juicy blood but my mind and stomach can't handle it so well done it is for me) but it's still pink:red when I cut it so they took it back and cooked it again, it came out prefect. The meat wasn't beefy and it wasn't dry, it's super super good when it dip it the ikinari sauce. The J-steak sauce is a bit salty for my taste. My husband got the filet medium rare but they over cooked it a little so I was able to eat some, it was a bit too chewy for my taste. My friend got the Wagyu beef sirloin and garlic rice. They killed it so must be good!!! It's kinda crazy how they opened so many of them in one setting and ended up closing most of them. Will definitely come back for my beef!!!!

Awwww man!! The food was soooo good! I'm not a steak person but these joints were on point! Great prices during lunch and brunch (11am - 4pm). No complaints here... Satisfied customer!

Excellent service and delicious lunch specials. I have to make a trip here whenever I have business in the midtown/times square area.

Got the Rangiri 7oz — assorted steak — since I wasn't sure which cut to get (not exactly a meat connoisseur) and it was delicious. My friends got the Chuck Tender CAB, Sirloin, and Ribeye and honestly you can't go wrong with any of the meat here! Plus, all steaks automatically come with a side of corn, though you can substitute for another veggie for free. :)

I ordered the sirloin 7oz, it is a decent size for someone who comes in with an average appetite, if you're starving you can definitely order around 10! The sirloin is nicely cooked and the coin on the side is spectacular!! I'd definitely recommend the coin and the broccoli!

This place really impressed me, definitely value for your steak !! You sit down and you order your steak from the chef where they cut & weigh the steak in front of you . I got the filet mignon which was so tender and juicy, didn't even need the steak sauce . My boyfriend got the top rib which was good but a bit chewy. For sides & drinks you order at your table from the server. Must get the beef pepper rice !! I don't know what it is but it's addicting ! They have a great selection of sake & wine too !

Select your cut of steak - or pick a combo - and order at at the kitchen. Order the sides from the wait staff. Everything was flavorful and cooked just right.
