Overall, it's too mushy and lacking in flavor - Yin Ji Chang fen is a clear winner in comparison.

The rice rolls are freshly made here. The price is a bit higher than other places in Chinatown but I think that the rice rolls are a bit larger here. I love rice rolls and will come visit here once a while for a special treat.

The rice roll is tender and chewy, exactly what I would like a rice roll to be. It would be great if the restaurant will use environmental-friendly containers like no plastics or other alternatives. I think that I will visit again hopefully soon.

I was looking for quick and cheap food around st. Marks and this little shop hit the spot! The vegetarian rice roll was delicious, and a decent amount of food for such a good price.

Finally have time to go check out this place today. Growing up eating the steam rice roll in southern China, I was very excited. My mom's hospital was right next to the best steam rice roll place in Guangzhou. The restaurant was very small, but clean. It was empty, went before dinner time. They only had 2 trays to make rice roll, so that took a looooong time. Finally got my rolls. I ordered a vegetarian roll, a beef roll, and a pork roll. The noodle itself was very thin and good! A bit chewy compare to the real traditional ones. But the meat was terrible!!!!! Can't even tell which one is which between the pork and the beef, no texture and taste differences. Both super mushy, lack of favor. Traditionally, beef needs to be thin sliced, marinated, but still light and fluffy, melts in your mouth. The vegetarian roll was a bit much, wish they just have a plain one with nothing on it, few good sauces, not just soy sauce.

Rice rolls are a staple of Cantonese cuisine and a fan favorite comfort food. I can't remember a time when I've gone to dim sum & NOT ordered rice rolls. Rice rolls with shrimp, rice rolls with roasted pork, fried dough wrapped in rice rolls, etc - you name it, I'll order it. Another fav of mine is rice rolls with fried fish balls covered in peanut sauce & soy sauce that you can get from the rice rolls carts in Chinatown. Because of Joe's reputation, my cousin wanted to try this place out but since it was far for her to get to, I offered to pick up an order for her. And of course, I had to get myself an order to go as well (duh, that was a no brainer)! At first, I was slightly hesitant because Joe's charges more than the carts. But I have to admit, it is worth the price. Even though I didn't get to try my dish until hours later (and even the next day when I reheated my dish), the rice rolls were still perfectly moist & full of flavor. Kudos to Joe's. Guess I'll be back for more! :)

Amazing!! First time here and I got the joes signature and by far my favorite rice roll to this day! Everything on the menu looks amazing! Looking forward to eating here!

I actually really liked the food hear. The reason why I give it a 4/5 stars is because the wait for the food ended up being really long. the crowds were so intense and it just felt really overwhelming. They are in a "mini mall" situation which is great to get other food, but overall the entire place was so crowded that you are just bumping into each other. I went right before covid. I look forward to returning because it is really authentic and delicious, I just wish there was a bit more crowd control

Joe's rice rolls (aka Cheung Fun) are absolutely DELICIOUS! We got the Signature rice roll which included beef, pork, fried shrimp, eggs, and 3 veggies. It was fresh and made-to-order. The rolls were soft and steaming hot. The fillings were flavorful and topping it off with soy sauce really completed the dish. Will definitely stop by again!

Although they only have one vegan option, it's one of my favorite meals in New York! You can taste some of the veggies, the roll is soft, and the peanut sauce elevates the meal. I'm sometimes a bit hungry afterward, but for $4.50, the veggie roll is a great deal!

On a cold day this was the perfect place to grab some grub! The best textured food I've ever had and to anyone saying it's not flavorful.. wake up. If there's not enough sauce they have a bunch of sauces to add and the scallions and cilantro perk it up a lot. Will be back!!

The best. Get the beef with scallions and bean sprouts for sure. Was surprised with how tasty the beef one is! The shrimp is also ??

Delicious! This is the spot for steamed rice rolls - get the classic with veggies added and use all the sauces!
