This used to be my favorite tacos place in the city, and its still pretty good, though I found it way over salted this time. Great spot for lunch regardless!

Those who say that it is the best taqueria in the world and that it looks like Mexico are very exaggerated. They are rich, but it's not a big deal. The meat is cut into cubes. Not shredded. They bring a small amount of meat. Quite expensive for what they are (if you want to fill up you have to order 4).
The place has tables to share which makes it a little uncomfortable to sit. I don't know if I would recommend it as an option if you visit NY. Excellent attention.

It’s far cry from authentic taco, coming from Texas. I’m not sure how they got such high reviews or are so crowded. It’s not terrible by any means but not good

A bit overpriced and overhyped. I’ve had much better tacos at other places at lower prices.

Really good tacos but unfortunately this place has a bit too much hype, not in regards to the food but sadly the “clientele”. Waited about 15 min for my food so line went super quick but both outside and inside I was harassed/solicited for food/money by the homeless with no remorse. Not necessarily their job but it was hard to enjoy my food with someone hovering over me saying I should give them some. The guacamole and chips was good and the steak was the best part. Pork was good but steak was just better. I recommend just skipping taco and doing quesadillas but I love cheese. Lives up to the hype! Free topping were nice too.

Tacos are enjoyable, but I don't think it's worth the long line and price at $5 per taco. We also wanted the pulled pork, but they were sold out, so we got the grilled chicken instead. Perhaps my expectations were too high.

Amazing food and tamarind juice!
But standing and eating a bit tough!

One of my friends wanted to try the tacos and raved about how highly rated this place was.
There is a long line but it moved somewhat fast for an afternoon in the middle of the week. Decent portions but the flavor wasn’t there for the amount paid. The best part is being able to grab as many radish as I wanted at the sauce/side bar.
We got lucky with a seat right outside but other than that minimal seating and some standing tables are available.

The chicken and beef are a bit dry. Nothing like the slow cooked and softer chicken and beef I love eating at Mexican places. The nopal is quite spicy. The sauce on the pork is tasty, so that's one of the tastiest tacos.
The tacos here are okay because tacos in general are fantastic. They do have a good amount of servings like cilantro, onions, and sauce, which is nice. But the meat is too dry to make this place better than just okay. The store Birria LES just a block away has very soft and savory meats, and I'd recommend them over this place. Plus the lines at Birria LES are much much shorter than here, so less wait for food, and they have better hours.
The tamarindo juice was nice in that it just had fruit and water. It was not too sweet.

Took them 10minutes to make me one taco pastor and it was so average like Mexican cuisine

A mula is a better version of a quesadilla, as I finally found out yesterday. I ordered mine with savory chicken, which was a great choice. In good weather, seek seating at a nearby park or the High Line. In inclement weather, keep calm and learn to dine in a standing position w/o support. If Conan O'Brien can do it, so can you!

The adobada tacos were delicious! They were a little salty, but I’d definitely order them again.

For it being NYC with no tacos in sight besides taco bell. These were ok, maybe because I got carne asada and the food was kind of bland . The trompo would probably be something with more flavor. So try the meat on the rotating burner.
