Flamboyant staff that guards the line. They selectively screen and force certain people to pay a $300 bar tab by holding your credit card while others can go straight in. Funny how I had 6 other friends in there already and they tried to pull this stunt on me. They lost over $400 that night after my group decided to leave and we ended up in other cooler bars in the area. Avoid this obnoxious dying bar.

Weird and judgmental vibe. Unless you’re a group of underage 15 years olds scrounging for a table then they won’t let you in.

Came here on a whim trying to get to another spot. I got to reading the reviews after I got home. Nice place pricey drinks but it is the city so that was to be expected.

This place is such a letdown that I couldn’t let it pass. The whole thing seems to be a “performance” — staff putting on this aloof, too-cool-to-care act. Maybe that works for some people, but I’m not paying $30 for a cocktail to be treated like an inconvenience by people who aren’t even pleasant to look at.
To be fair, the drinks were excellent and the bartenders themselves were warm and professional. The problem was the front-of-house, which felt like a parody of sophistication. Nina (or whatever her name is) seemed to be playing the role of a disinterested hostess, but with all the subtlety of a bad fringe theater production — the kind where you start wishing the curtain would fall just to put everyone out of their misery.

I’ve had equally expensive cocktails at Bar Hemingway in Paris and Bemelmans Bar in New York, where you’re met with genuine charm and impeccable service. Casablanca’s atmosphere was the opposite: an overacted façade that felt cheap despite the price tag. Good drinks alone can’t make up for hospitality that leaves you feeling unwelcome.

OMG I LOVE this venue . One of the few spots in NyC that holds on to this vibe that you feel if you were in Manhattan…

Absolutely terrible staff and aggressive bouncers that will assault you and throw you into the street without question. The other reviews mentioning instances with rude staff are not one time occurrences, so don’t expect to be treated even half-way decent after paying $35 for a mediocre cocktail.

So me and my daughter, who is a influencer on social media “BarbieSwae” We’re excited to celebrate pride week at Pauls Dolls tonight as she was hosting unfortunately, a manager (not sure of her name but she was in charge brunette fair skin) decided to step outside of her jurisdiction of the club and come to the curbside where individual in our party were taking video and pictures… keep in mind we have a section inside and again we are the company of a HOST for the evening. She looked intoxicated to some level but I can’t say four sure but she began have fake friendly conversation with our limo driver who is outside of the limo waiting on us to be ready to go, she asked a limo driver that we had paid for “are these kids playing….” Without being able to finish her sentence, I intervened and let her know that this limo was paid for by us and we are with a host of the evening… she then began to have an attitude without apologizing for assuming what she assumed… also, I’m not sure who she was referring to as kids, but if all of us were in her establishment, who exactly is a child. It was disrespectful and it wasn’t her place and she was line. I hate having to throw the race card in it, but I highly doubt if our skin complexion matched, she would have questioned anything, but because we were of a particular race, we had an urban appeal and we were all young. She took that as a sign of maybe we can’t afford a limo, I was so flabbergasted and I was in shock that this was happening so it took a second for me to even feel the disrespect because this was coming from a manager who in that moment didn’t want to step away when she was told by us (after her insult) to step away instead responded that she would move on her own time. At that moment , I had reached my boiling point and I wanted an apology but she then retreated behind the velvet entry ropes with no remorse. I’m sorry, but in 2025 during pride season this was wild too experience. How dare she question out of her jurisdiction? Let alone disrespect the mother of a host at her (the manager) venue. Belittling a group of people who are trying to have a good time at your establishment who are clearly well over the age of 21 and most definitely considered adults!!! I am very upset, I am embarrassed, I feel that she was judging us and I will be contacting today during earlier hours to make an official complaint

recently visited this bar, and I must say, it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in NY. From the moment I arrived, the staff was unhelpful and rude.
I highly recommend that you think twice before visiting. There are plenty of other options out there that value their customers and provide a much better experience. Save your time and money.

Absolutely horrible staff, the woman at the door was extremely rude to me and my friends. It was my birthday and the door people treated us with no respect whatsoever. All the other reviews are accurate, do not go to this place unless you wanna ruin your night. Not sure what pedestal the staff thinks they’re on and where the aggression is coming from!

Staff are Terrible and Rude. Front door staff will berate you. They will only let you in if you pay $2k for a table (the bar is empty anyway). Dont bother coming here honestly.

They have an employee who “guards” the bathrooms which more or less amounts to slamming the door in the faces of women who dare to question him. Very alarming.
