Gem, and a dying breed, and I hope it has a long life, but during the pandemic it has slowly begun attracting Jimmy Buffet-loving date-rape types (the kind that usually hung around the barge).

In the early days of the pandemic, Greenpoint resembled a ghost town--with the notable exception of Safehouse. This bar's light was always on and its to-go drinks became part of our new normal. Along with great pours at a great price, the staff--Kyle, Sal, John, and Tony--are the unofficial mayors of Franklin Street. Come for the drinks, bathroom access, and adorable dog-watching...stay for the new friends and small-town kindness.

Great local spot with a good selection of beer and a food vendor in the back which has an incredibly large menu of Venezuelan street food.

Since Coronavirus hit NYC, I've not once seen an employee of this bar wearing a mask. They make no effort to enforce social distancing either, allowing large crowds to hang out on the sidewalk in front.Early on in the crisis, when everything was shut down, they had a covert party with the blinds drawn. Brooklyn Safehouse makes our neighborhood less safe.

Cheap drinks , good company, and the new edition of a Cachapas Y Mas in the kitchen is amazing. Super large menu at a reasonable rate.

This is the bad place. I've never walked into a bar and experienced such a strong desire to immediately leave. I wouldn't be surprised if it was haunted. Also on a more technical note, the bartender was absolutely not interesting in bartending. He barely spoke to us at a volume that was audible. And apparently the bar was all out of rum, except well rum? so. strange. just go to one of the many other bars in that area.

Wandered here after an event at the expo center. It was a Sunday afternoon so the place was pretty empty but was filling up by the time we left. This place isn't too fancy but has a great vibe. Beer is cheap ($5 each for most) and we were able to watch some basketball. Downsides were that they only had a single bathroom and I definitely saw a staff member sleeping on a lawn chair in the kitchen. But neither of these really effected me so no harm done!

Great bar, free pool, amazing owners, super cool regulars. Tony is great & their prices are better than pretty much every other bar in greenpoint.
