Showed up at 20.15, greeted very rudely by a member of staff sitting on the floor to tell me "we don't serve drinks here"... A tavern that doesn't serve drinks, I've heard it all now... Went to O'Haras bar around the corner who were much more obliging... Do NOT recommend St George's, absolutely recommend O'Haras

I came for the history of rhe tavern after a Christmas Eve service at Trinity. I had the French onion soup in mind from the reviews. When I arrived it wasn't on the menu which was mostly asian food, but I was assured they make it the same as the review photo. They did! I was glad. Otherwise J7 asian soup looked great. Still remnants of an old church lingering here and there such as the front chapel windows. A great spot on the coldest Christmas in 20 years.

Very bad experience... unfortunately. We stayed at the Holiday Inn and had the (not so great) idea to go down to take a breakfast there on a Saturday morning, with the kids it looked better then go out at the cold whether but OMG! The worse service EVER seeing: the front desk guys was kind but after that, the waitress (a bald guy) started to speak Spanish with us (super fast) we normally understand some Spanish but he didn't look worry about us to understand or not.. he looked stressed. He got our drinks because it was his service, the waitress (Asian women) never came at our table to pick our order up.. so we called her and she looked a little upset about that. She was a little rude explain to us that when I asked for the toppings pancake on the side, she is ordering on the iPad as "sauce on the side"... and I said ok. No problem. I cannot explain all the details but I really not recommend this restaurant, and the star is only because the eggs were good.

This week I’m staying at the Holiday Inn Financial District in Manhattan. Attached to the hotel is the “restaurant (note, I’m using that term loosely). This “dark, room” is definitely not somewhere that you’d want to eat your breakfast from. It’s dirty, the staff do not understand English as they’re all Chinese and the food service area was disgusting. There is nothing nice about this venue and it is a shame because, in the right hands, it could be a gold mine. Maybe it’s a front for something but it sure isn’t a great eating experience. Avoid!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn for 4 nights, but we didn't discover St. George until the 3rd morning. We went both the 3rd and 4th mornings for breakfast. It was amazing. Each day we were greeted by Bernardo and Brian. Both were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They made us feel right at home, and the service was super fast with endless offerings of refills on coffee and drinks. The portions were huge. When we weren't able to finish the full meals, they were quick to offer us a take out container. Everything was delicious, and it was very fast service, which we appreciated since we wanted to get moving for the day. The friendliness of the 2 guys made our mornings. From your 3 Canadian guests last week, thank you for some great meals and conversation!

What's the purpose of having a restaurant inside a church if you're going to remove all traces of the church? This place looks like a deli with a bar, (including a mirrored ceiling, so no arches) so if you're looking for some kind of historical ambiance this definitely isn't it.

I brought a group here for lunch and it was underwhelming to say the very least. My group was not happy. It was dark and sad. We were the only ones there until 2 guests came about an hour later. The service was rude, I had never experienced anything like it. The burgers were okay. One guest had a pasta with some type of steak and couldn't eat the steak. The black bean veggie burgers were inedible. We were all happy when we left. If you stick strictly to their menu, do not need any extras such as ketchup, salt, sauce, or a constant missing piece of silverware, then it may do the job if you're in and out.

It was actually one of my restaurant experiences that stood out of not being a good one. I took a group of 17 guests to this restaurant and was very sad on how the service went down. We were served fast and it was somewhat efficient, but we felt like we were bothering the servers when we needed either more cheese, a spoon or such. And this was a group that was not demanding. When it came down to paying, the servers came to the table and just yelled out the prices. I had to intervene and say that this is not a friendly way of presenting the bill. I think that maybe some things were lost in translation, since the servers grew up speaking another language. At one point however - especially in NYC - you need to learn the basics: A smile goes a long way, a please and a thank you does, as well as the overall tone when you're serving.Food wise, it was nothing to write home about. The salads were fine, the black bean burger really strange and we didn't or couldn't eat it. The rigatoni was fine, but the meat on top of it was not.My group was not excited and I don't see myself back here any time soon.

Unfortunately we were less than thrilled with our experience here. I took a group of 17 guests to this restaurant and was very sad on how the service went down. We were served fast and it was somewhat efficient, but we felt like we were bothering the servers when we needed either more cheese, a spoon or such. And this was a group was not a demanding one. When it came down to paying, the servers yelled: $8 Dollars! (for a drink bill). I had to intervene and say that this is not a friendly way of presenting the bill. I think that maybe some things were lost in translation, since the servers grew up speaking another language. At one point however - especially in NYC - you need to learn the basics: A smile goes a long way, a please and a thank you does, as well as the overall tone when you're serving. If I am going to a restaurant I don't want to feel that I am annoying the servers by eating there. I would go as far as saying that this is how I felt. Food wise, it was nothing to write home about. The salads were fine, the black bean burger really strange and we didn't or couldn't eat it. The rigatoni was fine, but the meat on top of it was not. My group was not excited and I don't see myself back here any time soon.

I had a craving for spaghetti and meatballs and this tavern is downstairs in the lobby. It was dry, barely had any sauce in the serving and the meatballs were frozen. I had to throw it out.

Great service and good food! After a long day of walking around nyc, I stopped in for a beer and chicken wings before heading back up to the room. Stella on tap, ice cold. Wings were tasty. No complaints.

This place serves both American Pub food as well as Chinese food. We went for the Chinese - Fried dumplings, General Tso chicken and prawns Lo Mein. Since we were super gingery for lunch at 4pm, we were super happy to see food on our table within few minutes of ordering! ?

I feel tricked. Found this place on Open Table and it shows American food. When we arrived it is a Chinese restaurant with different decor but same name. I can’t speak to the food or service but I think the one star is warranted because the resturant should be aware everything online about it is false.
