Our first time here today & WE LOVED IT ! The staff are so friendly & the coffee was perfect . We tried the Unicorn blood which was delicious & decorated so cute ! Then we also tried one of the seasonal lattes which had hazelnut with honey flavor also so delicious ! I would definitely recommend to anyone, what a cool & creative little shop

Ok so I know they're closed now, but I forgot to write my review before they did! Can someone please bring them back? Because it was so awesome and I'd love to stop back in for a sparkly, magical butterbeer latte. I mean, I'll drive out to Pennsylvania to their other location if I have to, but a NYC one would be more ideal and convenient. Maybe open a location in the new flagship store coming? I'm just saying....def want them to come back, that's for sure. I'm glad I got to experience it at least though.

Steamy Hallows is a Harry Potter themed coffee shop in East Village. The theme is on point without being cheesy. The biggest downside is that it's small with only a few tables and chairs.

I was super excited to check out this Harry Potter themed cafe but am sad to see the nyc location go :( I had to try the Butter Brew Latte of course! It tasted sweet like butterscotch and the perfect amount of whipped cream to top it off. The cafe is a small hole in the wall in East Village. A couple bar stools to sit so it seems more like a stop-and-go type of cafe. The decorations are on point to the spooky vibes and the workers are so kind and fun! Wish they'd stay in the city for longer but I hope they find another location for next year!

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan so I was so excited to visit.. unfortunately I won't be coming back. While the experience is nice with the overall decor and aesthetic of the shop, the drinks are very subpar for the price. It's all themed so I get the up charge, but neither the love potion or the butter brew was worth the $7 price. Not to mention the cafe itself is SMALL. Uncomfortably small, so you can't really stay long to enjoy the atmosphere which is a shame. I'm glad I tried it but won't be returning.

Was there with my friend just to check new fancy place. Staff is very friendly and nice there. Iced "love potion" was pretty tasty. They also have some cookies. But place is mostly just about coffee.Place is really small. Around 4 bar chair and that's it. So be ready if arrive with a party. I think that was the only thing that disappointed me a bit. Otherwise witchy atmosphere guaranteed (=

Harry Potter themed without the Harry Potter copyright. Charming place, none the less. Very tiny, plan to take your drink to go (or to the park a few blocks north). Drinks are expensive but special. My love potion tasted distinctly of rose with red glitter on top.

Great service and tasty drink! Get the butterbeer latte, it's very pretty! The place is a little small but hopefully there will be an expansion.

It's a cool HP-inspired hole in the wall cafe. Stand there for a couple minutes and drink your butterbeer latte and take it all in! Then leave, because there's people behind you, brother.

The interior decorations are spot on! But the place is pretty small and doesn't have many seats. Has only 3 to be precise. Only drinks options and one type of cookies which get sold out pretty soon. Also little bit of a walk from the nearest subway station (I might be wrong on this one since I'm not a New Yorker but this what I experienced)

Ever since I heard about this place from a fellow Elite Yelper, I knew I had to visit this place since I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I finally got the chance to experience the coffee shop with a friend one dreary Saturday afternoon. Upon entering, I immediately fell in love with the decor and definitely felt like I was transported into Harry Potter land. Especially when the rain started to fall, making me really feel like I was in England. The ceiling is black with white dots. There is a spooky cool black + silver chandelier-esque light, along with keys, candles, broomstick hanging from it. On the walls, there are deer horns, a mirror rimmed in gold, Harper's Weekly, witch's hat, sparkly black broomsticks, books, pumpkins, lanterns and more! Also on the wall, there is a sign with: "Coffee is my kind of magic." Next to the large window facing the street are fairy lights and a black cauldron with smoke coming out of it. The menu is handwritten on chalkboard and super cute! This spot is quite small with only a few chairs and a little bit of counter space, but thankfully the folks who were inside were leaving just as my friend and I were ordering. We both got the iced ButterBeer Latte. This consisted of expresso, butterscotch syrup, vanilla syrup, milk, whipped cream with gold glitter and caramel drizzle. The drink was made with care and beautifully presented. It was absolutely delicious! My favorite part was the butterscotch flavor. The whipped cream was seriously silky smooth and went perfectly with the latte. There wasn't too much of coffee taste, but I didn't mind. The team working behind the counter were characters, very outgoing and helped make the atmosphere inviting. The prices are a tad high at $7+ per drink and $6+ per cookie. Also, the establishment only takes credit card, so no muggle money here. Though, tips are accepted in cash of course. I plan to return to try Love Potion #9 3/4, which is made of mocha, rose, and raspberry. I might even try the ButterBrew cookie.
