I have been coming to Liehs & Steigerwald for over 60 years, since I first came with my father at the age of six, and the store is indeed a Syracuse landmark. Their meats, sausages, liverwurst, and other products are absolutely wonderful, the staff is always friendly and helpful, and just the scent of the smoked meats as you walk in the door will make you smile. Going there is always a treat, and coming home with their products makes my family happy. I am so glad this is one business that is still going strong, when so many of the best stores in Syracuse have been unable to keep going.

Best place- #1, 5 star, cleanest, and I've never been to a meat shop that I wanted to smell until this

They have the best pastrami. Customer service is awesome.

Landjäger for the win!My favorite Syracuse butcher for the past 15 years.... survived a pandemic, and two recessions, AND STILL selling the tastiest animal flesh around!100% worth a visit- to top it off, Dilauro's bakery and Lombardi's Imports are both right down the road! Hit em all!

I've lived in Syracuse all my life and I've never visited here even though I've known about the store since I was a youngster. I recently received a coupon in the mail and it arrived at the same time I was taking my staycation so it was perfect timing and I made my visit one morning to check it out. The store was neat and clean and the young lady who waited on me was patient and informative whenever I asked a question about the meats or cheeses. I didn't get her name but she had the prettiest eyes. If I asked her something she didn't know for sure, she never said "I don't know" but she'd ask someone in the back for the answer. A voice came bellowing from the back room with the reply I was looking for. I bought NY Strip steaks, cube steaks, super thick pork chops, cheese, baked beans and cabbage rolls. The whole experience reminded me when I was a kid and I'd go shopping with my Mom and the meat was always in a case and not pre-packaged like it is today. I'll definitely be back to stock up on more fresh meats and cheeses.

We tried the chicken wing sausage and Philly cheese steak sausage. They were phenomenal! Omg. This shop has friendly customer service and high-quality meat. We will definitely be back.

I make the drive from Marcellus as it's totally worth the time and trip. The service is spot on and very friendly. I always end up buying way more than I intended to and my wife always rolls here eyes at me when I get home and unpack my booty. I really need to come with a list and stick to it as I typically come for "steak" and walk out with so much more.Their bacon is a tad thin for my liking as I prefer a thicker cut bacon , but what it lacks in thickness it more than makes up for in flavor. I can overlook that as the bacon is indeed TASTY!The variety of their sausages is pleasing and all are indeed good. For some reason, perhaps a total lack of self control at my end, I always seem to walk out with some sausages even when not on my list. My only issue (all be it petty) - I do wish they'd put a higher fat content with more spice in their breakfast sausages as I like a spicy/sage breakfast sausage. With that said, theirs is good and I will buy them again. It's just that we all like what we like and I prefer a stronger flavor breakfast sausage then they offer.I love the aged and extra sharp cheddar they offer and l've never had a bad steak there. Let me say that again....I'VE NEVER GOT A BAD STEAK THERE.Although I've been tempted to sample there prepared food selection, I've not yet done so. It all looks good, but I'll have to reserve my comments for when I sample something. All in all a TOTAL Friends & Family recommendation.

All spruced up after pandemic(visible, full stock display of high quality meats/ American /E.European foods)hard to beat . You won't believe how polished the selection is- this is old world charm for a break .
Stopped in for an Easter ham and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I wish I got the clerks name, she was wonderful and very knowledgeable. I left with a freshly cut ham, pound of bacon, a bratwurst link and some dog treats. While she was helping me, she gave me a sample of the round bologna which was so good! I will be back to try their other options, the selection they have is overwhelming!

The Steigerwald family is always there for ideas and suggestions on cuts of meat and cooking plans. We are always trying their prepped foods and they pair nicely with the fresh meats. If you like American cheese, they have Cooper Sharp American. Try it!

All the reviews are for sausage, which I am sure are great. I'm always looking for an out of the way place and whenever I see butcher, I go. Picked up a NY Strip. I know how to cook a steak and if I had this at a restaurant I would send it back. I figured $30 a pound it's got to be above average. It was terrible, very tough. Ended up throwing half of it away.

Great place for fresh pork and delicious deli meats. Best in the area.

We ordered from their food truck at 315 brewery. No lines no waiting and we soon found out why. $10 for the pulled pork sandwich and an extra dollar to add cole slaw to it. We also had an bacon egg and cheese sandwich for $8. They were stingy with everything. Pulled pork had very little flavor, there was an inadequate amount of barbecue sauce and take a look at my pic to see the pathetic amount of cole slaw they put on. The egg sandwich was very small and dry. I've reviewed a lot of places and have never given a 1 star rating to anyone. Eat somewhere else. I will say that this food truck is not an accurate reflection of their store. They really need to up their game or call it quits when it comes to their food truck.
