My wife and I picked up a loaf of the olive polenta bread and some focaccio at the Regional Market. Delicious! Excited to get more this week!

Truly one of a kind bakery! If I want some really good fermented bread fresh from a bakery: Look no further! Their Chocolate chip cookies (Vegan) are addictive! I look forward to the day you can walk into such an independent business such as Scratch Bakehouse Bakery and NOT see a Mask on those who work there?! A terrific bakery that sells only Quality breads and goodies! Food you can feel good about eating, too! Service is always great...very friendly and accommodating!!! DEFINITELY A MUST Place to Check out if you want Real Bread that is worth paying for! It's your honest hardworking money: why not support a local bakery that's worth spending your dollars there!

LOVE the chocolate croissants, and the best place for artisan bread. Highly recommend!

As many of my Yelp brethren have reported, I confirm that this is not a sit down cafe. You walk in, you approach a counter of goodies, you place your order, get said goodies and leave with an urge to dig into everything right when you get into your car. The first thing you will notice when you walk in is the aroma. I want them to somehow capitalize on this scent by, IDK, making it into a candle or bottling it. The baker informed us that everything was made from sourdough. Intrigued, we ordered a few slices of cheese pizza, an almond croissant, and a loaf of multi-seed bread. The pizza was immediately consumed in the car. I'd never had pizza with a sourdough crust and was a little worried it would overwhelm the rest of the flavors, but it was perfectly harmonious. The crust had this wonderful chewiness, and it was just the right thickness. The almond croissant was heftier than the more traditional ones I've had. But it was scrumptious. It was covered in sliced almonds which gave it a nice initial crunch that provided a wonderful contrast to its soft and doughy innards. The multi-seed loaf is heavy. I wouldn't even do this to my worst enemy because why waste amazing bread, but if I threw it at someone's head, I'm pretty sure it would hurt. This bread is sooooooooooo goooooood. On appearance it reminds me of the type of bread that villagers baked in 1400s in Europe (based purely on my exposure from Netflix). It has a very secure crust, and the inside was both dense and pillowy. Bonus - this bread plays a kind of soundtrack when you slice it. I thought I understood what, "eating with all five sense," meant. But then I went to this bakery and they taught me. I've been schooled.

Noticed this bakery en route to Wegman's one day... very unassuming location. Popped in for something sweet this weekend. The selection is quite small, but I ordered a cheese danish and an oatmeal raisin cookie. The cheese danish was flakey with delicious cheese filling. The oatmeal raisin cookie was very dense with lots of raisins (love that)- maybe somewhat nutritious?? Prices are standard for pastries... would consider trying some of their other treats or loaves of fresh bread!

Best bread I’ve ever had! I had a fresh sourdough multigrain loaf, with caraway, sunflower seeds, and poppy seeds. A rainbow burst of flavors, feom the initial crusty chewiness of caraway to the poppy, and finally the gorgeous sourdough finish WOW!!! Just sitting here eating it straight out of the bag, with the occasional butter and honey. Also the pastries are amazing. Very safe in their COVID precaution. Worth a trip.

I've been wanting to visit this bakery for a while being one of the only bakeries in the area I haven't tried and finally made it happen. Their hours are a little different so they are closed on my usual day for bakery testing, Sunday's :).... and they don't open til 10 during the week and close at 5 so it's been a long time coming. Let me start by saying that croissants are my fav and I've visited bakeries and cafes all over including in numerous parts of the US, Italy, Germany, The UK, and Czech Republic. So I'm no newbie to the croissant and pastry world and am certainly not easy to win over.... The location of the bakery on Brighton ave wasn't honestly all that appealing and candidly this isn't a go in and cute cafe or bakery or anything of the sort. It's truly just a go in grab the items u want and take out. Also - this isn't a place to get coffee or expresso drinks either ... the girl at the counter did say their second shop on Fayette street is so I'll fill you in on that one later after I try it. Now, onto the good stuff. They were out of vegan croissants (yes, they have both reg and choc vegan croissants usually apparently) so I got a regular choc croissant and the honey oat loaf To sum it up, why would anyone go anywhere else ?!

Best bakery in Syracuse? Yes. I'd go as far as to say one of the best in the country. This is bread and pastry elevated to its highest form. You will not easily find quality like this elsewhere. The spanakopita and poppyseed almond paste pastries left me speechless when I tasted them for the first time this weekend. I don't know that I've ever tasted something so perfect. The bread? The bread is everything bread should be - flavorful, crusty, satisfying, REAL BREAD. I don't think I can buy bread anywhere else now. Is it possible to fall in love with a bakery? Scratch Bakehouse, you've been all I can think about!

Fabulous breads (love the raisin), delicious pastries and scrumptious cookies... healths three major food groups all captured in one location! If you can't make it up to the store, I have also seen it available at the farmers market on Saturdays.

This is an excellent bakery, probably the best in town. The croissants are a must, but the bread is the star here. Do yourself a favor and shop here!

We just discovered the Scratch Bakehouse in Syracuse. What a find! They specialize in delicious bread, pastries and cookies from whole grain flour. I impulse bought their Focaccia at the Fayetteville farmer's market last week and loved it. Today, we happened to notice their store on Brighton while on an errand to the south side of Syracuse and walked out with some olive/polenta bread, morning buns and more. Now I'm going to have to make a trip south of downtown every time we visit SYR.

Won't go there again!
