It’s a shame because the food really is delicious but the unfair and inconsistent treatment is not. I was charged $22 originally in the middle of me paying a younger woman stands up and completely changes the price to $30. In ordered pork chops and a side salad. She rang me up instead for a meal no beans no rice. Then refused to give me the “full meal” she charged me for stating I would need to return the salad if I wanted the beans and rice etc. I say it all the time but this time I WONT be back.

I've not had a bad meal here. The mofongo was fresh, the masitas de cerdo were crispy & fresh as well as the accompanying caldito. So good. The waitresses are so friendly, sweet, and very attentive to your needs.

The Dominican Restaurant – Uniondale, NY

This place is absolutely worth the drive — we live almost 40 minutes away, and we still make the trip just for their food! Every dish we’ve tried tastes homemade, full of authentic Dominican flavor and served in generous portions.

The staff is always welcoming and happy, and the service feels genuine — you can tell they take pride in what they do. The food is consistently fresh and flavorful, from the pernil and rice to the beans and salad. Everything tastes like it’s cooked with care.

If you’re looking for delicious Dominican comfort food and friendly service in a casual, family-style atmosphere, this spot is 100% worth visiting. Highly recommend!

I’m writing this review because this restaurant has significantly improved its customer service, though the food’s flavor could still use some work. About eight years ago, I was introduced to this place, which quickly became my go-to spot on Long Island for Dominican food. Back then, the taste was exceptional, the portion sizes were generous enough to feed a family for days, and the homemade drinks were delightful. However, over the years, I’ve noticed the food has become overly salty at times, with some dishes lacking flavor entirely. In the past, I occasionally experienced poor service and felt judged for my darker skin tone, depending on who served me, but thankfully, the service has improved in recent times. I highly recommend the beef stew and macaroni salad—both are absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for great value, this place delivers portions that exceed expectations in the best way! Overall, I would recommend giving it a try.

I used to go to the restaurant when I lived in NY. I went back because I loved the food. I order mofongo with pork skin and it was okay. When I left the restaurant I started to feel sick with stomach pain. By the time I got home I was not well. The next day I was even sicker and it was determined that I had food poisoning. I was not the only one that got sick. My mother order a seafood soup and she was unable to eat it all because it was not cooked well. When we got home she as well was not feeling good and had stomach pains.

I'm go too spot whenever I'm in the neighborhood. Food and service is great. Portions are large, their prices are affordable.

These people are racist I got charged an extra $15+ because I am black. My Spanish speaking peoples go all the time and pay the same set price all the time. I go pick up for them not knowing the price and they overcharged. When I went back inside to tell them, they in fact gave me the money they overcharged in cash.
