Just ordered a cake and picked it up wanted black icing they said you dont want that itll turn your mouth black, said she could spray it black , i said lets do that , i wanted geometric designs on it 2 days later i picked up a cake with white icing geometric designs which looked good , with a grave yard Halloween theme didnt even say i wanted anything like that but i got it anyway im not unhappy with the cake because they do stellar work but next time ill be a little more hard nosed when i order and explain the design im positive the cake is gonna taste great ,just kinda went a lil down hill imo

Called and tried to place an order for a specific type of cake and the person was rude. I barely got the cake flavor out and she started telling me the price. I am not a fan of buttercreams but she kept insisting on it and then telling me well it is your cake but the buttercream is better. I also needed to see if they would insert a surprise in the middle but never got that far as she cut me off, repeated the price and then said do you want to place the order. No, I don't, as I am not sure of what I will get.

I LOVE their stuff, but was extremely disappointed when I messaged them which wedding cake I liked (as we were told to do by the owner over the phone). And then my message said "seen" but was completely ignored for a few weeks. I took it as you didn't care for my business which is pretty sad. Good customer service goes a long way with this kind of stuff, so I took my business elsewhere, with proper communication ?♀️
It is so good that that you'll have to keep going there no one will be happy with anything else from anywhere else Amen

First time stopping at Checkerboard Cheesecake since I moved nearby. I have had their beautiful, tasty cupcakes at a couple family parties.This is a very nice shop! I bought one of the small, chocolate decadence cheesecakes. It was absolute heaven on a plate! My neighbors thought so too.CC is a real jewel of a bakery to have nearby!My only tiny quibble is that, while their sign is colorful, the name was hard to make out. With all the quaint shops on Main, and their entrance being set back into the building, I wasn't sure I had found them.Hope more people find them and the business lives long and prospers!
