Located in the next building to my hotel, I did not want to give the place a miss. However after tasting the Bakersfield OTR's chili, I personally prefer a non franchise food option, unlike Skyline.
Skyline is a Cincinnati staple. It's not particularly healthy or even something you would find in a cook book. It's a slightly sweet super thin chili that is put on a hot dog or spaghetti and dressed usually with tons of Colby cheese plus or minus onions and beans. I don't mind Skyline but I'm not obsessed either. If you have never had it, it is worth a try. This location is cute, has a nice little view of Clifton and decent service. The coneys from here we're my husband's 2nd favorite food of our entire vacation. I enjoyed the 4 way with beans since I don't like raw onions. The cheese potato and cheese fries were a little too cheesy, and it wasn't melted a lot. I can't imagine how many bags of shredded cheese they go through. My kids enjoyed the hot dogs.
