THE YOUNG MEN THERE REFUSED TO SERVE ME AND MY NIGERIAN FRIEND. I was very hurt. They laughed at us after turning us away. Would not even acknowledge our presence. Nigerians please avoid this place. Americans, PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE.

It took the guy a while to ask for my order, although he saw me. The older guy came out from the back and was very polite and helpful, and I ended up ordering 4 meals. All were wonderful, I ordered the fish with rice, okra sauce with lamb that was fall off the bone tender and rice, the leaf sauce and rice, and the grilled chicken with rice. The store was ice cold, so that was my only complaint with the inside of the restaurant I definitely couldn't eat in if I wanted to. But I will most definitely be back. Everything was perfectly seasoned and spiced. The Vine Street restaurant has gone downhill since 2000. This is definitely the best African food in Cincy. Didn't see half of the things below on the menu.

I had came here with my boyfriend to eat fufu and soup i was enjoying how the food tasted as we are preparing to leave i look to my right and see that there is a live mouse sitting just a few feet away from me. i got up walked out and forced myself to throw up every bit of food i had in my stomach from that place because if there is mice in the dining room there is mice in the kitchen as well and i was not risking diseases.

I went to 221 Restaurant, here is what I thought:WOW! 221 Restaurant was a divine introduction to the Senegalese cuisine. The atmosphere is welcoming and the food is delicious. This place feels like a dream!

First time trying Senegalese food and I had an awesome experience from start to finish. The girl working at the front desk was extremely polite and gave me a great recommendation of the foods I should order. All of the food was delicious a lot of the food I got was oniony but the spices accompanied with it made each dish unique! The plantains were also awesome as a side item which I wasn't sure if I'd even like because I hate the flavor of banana but they tasted more like a pastry more than anything else.I think it was great and you get so much for what you pay for. Will definitely be back!!!
