We celebrated our 50th anniversary at the Glidden house. Great breakfast and a nice walk to the Horticulture center and restaurants. Never moved our car for 3 days.

Glidden House was stellar! The breakfast in the morning was stellar with very kind staff that really made the morning. They had a good variety of food yogurt, pancakes, eggs, and pastries; all were very good. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The location was great since it was right in the middle of campus, and the atmosphere was great since it kept a lot of the 1920s flare that the house was made with.

My 5 star review is solely based on the Glidden House service! There’s a very long story, but those details are unnecessary. I needed to change my reservations and then later needed to cancel, but every time I called the front desk, I was treated like a valued guest! After my cancellation, I was accidentally charged one night for a room. When I called to resolve the issue, they were so accommodating and my money was refunded in less than 24 hours! If I ever need to stay near downtown Cleveland, I will book with the Glidden House!!

Glidden House: A Charming and Delightful Stay★★★★★Glidden House is a true gem among hotels, offering a perfect blend of old-world charm and modern amenities. From the moment I stepped into this historic building, I was captivated by its unique architectural style and warm, inviting atmosphere. The staff at Glidden House were exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring that my stay was nothing short of wonderful. They went above and beyond to accommodate my needs and provide helpful recommendations for exploring the surrounding area. The room itself was a pleasant surprise, impeccably clean and beautifully appointed. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the comfortable bedding to the well-maintained furnishings. It was the perfect retreat after a long day of sightseeing. One of the highlights of my stay was the delightful breakfast served in the morning. The selection was diverse and delicious, with options to suit every taste. It was a great way to start the day on a positive note. The hotel's location is another major selling point. Situated in close proximity to the museum district, Glidden House offers easy access to some of the city's most popular cultural attractions. It was incredibly convenient to explore the nearby museums and galleries without having to venture far from the hotel.A delightful surprise awaited me in my room - a small rubber ducky, adding a touch of whimsy and charm to my stay. It's little details like this that make Glidden House stand out from other hotels. In conclusion, Glidden House is a nice hotel that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. With its historic charm, exceptional service, clean and comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, and prime location, it ticks all the boxes for a memorable and enjoyable stay. I can't wait to return to this lovely hotel on my next visit!

If you are visiting CWRU this is hands down the best place to stay. Service is great, rooms are clean, included breakfast is excellent. The hotel is right next to the CWRU dorms on campus so it is perfectly located. My granddaughter is a student at CWRU and it took me a while to find this place, but I will always stay here when I return. Very highly recommend it!Nearby activities: Also located near the Cleveland Art Museum and botanical garden.Walkability: Perfect location for walking anywhere on the CWRU campus.

I just had a terrible, terrible experience at The Glidden house. I was greeted brusquely. Before I Had a sip of my cocktail. I was told it was the Ohio law to either pay or present a credit card or a room number. I am in my 60s and I am fully dressed in a suit and tie. There was no one sitting at the bar but me. So therefore, the young lady could not mix up tabs. And I certainly Donot look like a Runner Also being familiar with the law. I do not know if it was a form of intimidation for her To mistake the Ohio law. Or if it was a test of my veracity and financial Well being And overall horrific experience at that establishment. And I would not recommend it to anyone. Intelligent discretion on her behalf would have allowed a middle-aged older gentleman. to sit at the bar and enjoy a cocktail and then be presented with a check. When faced with her attitude and combativeness, I did not even drink my drink. I just got up and left. After paying That establishment gets a big 0.Food & drinks: Terrible service and being misquoted on the ohio law is a distinct turn off

The charm of this absolutely wonderful inn and hotel cannot be understated. Perhaps the only facet that exceeds it is the outstanding customer service that begins with the first phone call and continues throughout your stay. In particular, I would like to commend Geneva, the front desk manager, who will treat you like family from the moment you arrive. Just a wonderful, wonderful experience!

Charming Boutique Stay in ClevelandWe recently had the pleasure of staying at Glidden House in Cleveland, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The hotel's quaint boutique charm, coupled with its friendly and helpful staff, made our visit truly memorable. The location proved to be ideal, especially for those attending events at Severance Hall. A mere 10-minute walk to the concert venue made our stay incredibly convenient. The surrounding area felt clean and safe, contributing to a pleasant and worry-free atmosphere. The staff at Glidden House deserves special mention for their warm hospitality and assistance throughout our stay. Their friendliness added a personal touch to our visit, making us feel welcome and well taken care of.As for the accommodation itself, the rooms were comfortable and well-appointed, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploring Cleveland. The overall ambiance of the boutique hotel added a unique and charming touch to our stay. I wish it was a little quieter, but its a hotel and others movements are hard to control. One of the highlights was the breakfast, which, while not extravagant, proved to be more than adequate. It provided a good start to our day and added to the overall value of our stay.In conclusion, Glidden House offers a charming and comfortable retreat in the heart of Cleveland. Whether you're attending a concert at Severance Hall or exploring the city, this boutique hotel provides a welcoming haven with excellent service. We look forward to returning on our next visit to Cleveland.Rooms: Comfortable. Could be quieter.Walkability: Great location for Severance Hall and the University. Lots to do and places to visit in the area.

This is a beautiful and historic hotel! The entry, lobby, and dining area are from the original Glidden House mansion. Delicious breakfast buffet, cozy fireplaces, 24/7 coffee and tea station, walking distance to many museums, parks, and restaurants, and adequate rooms. I would love to come back!

NO HOUSEKEEPING!!!I selected The Glidden House because it sounded bucolic, cozy and charming compared to the InterContinental my colleagues had suggested.Upon arrival, I was promptly told by the receptionist that "No one will be entering your room for the entire stay." WHAAAT??!! There was NO HOUSEKEEPING!! What sort of hotel is this that doesn't offer the basic, fundamental daily housekeeping. I reserved a suite, yet I was told that my soiled towels had to put in a bag, my trash can had to put outside of the room. There was no vacuuming of the floor and the bed was not made on a daily basis (much less changing the linens). The dirty glasses used to drink were not replaced and the dried water spots on the shower door were just left there.I couldn't believe this!! Four days?! The COVID-19 pandemic is over. Yet, this policy seems to have been continuing for a long period of time after COVID without letting anyone know.I reserved a suite in a distinctive hotel, not an air BnB. The folks were nice, but the policy of "NO HOUSEKEEPING" during the entire stay of the guest and that NO ONE ENTERS A ROOM needs to be abolished. It was horrible.Furthermore, in the room, there was NO CLOCK (on the night table) or timepiece to know what time it was. There was no phone bedside (in case you needed to call the front desk). So, you had to get out of the bed, walk into the other room where there WAS a phone and call the front desk. And this was a SUITE!!! The experience was a total disappointment.
