My family and I came here to celebrate my birthday. We had a great meal and great time! The food was hot, fresh and delicious. The portions were generous! We had yellow perch, scallops, salmon and Mac and cheese with lobster chunks. All were very good. This little place is a hidden gem. Highly recommend.

to start, we had reservations on Saturday night and although there were many open tables we had to wait past our reservation time. waitress took our order for drinks as we decided on food. the guys went with the perch dinners and us girls had rib eye steaks. all ordered Cole slaw as a side. Failed to bring out the fourth dish of coleslaw! the waitress brought out food out and gave the wrong steaks, no big deal to switch plates. asked for a refill on my drink, never got it. waitress never returned to ask how food was. both steaks were tough and at the price of $33 each, they should have melted in our mouth!! the perch dinners were enjoyed which was the only plus. when request for a manger, turned out to be our waitress and her attitude was not very pleasant but more on the rude side. thankfully we had gift cards to use. my suggestion, don't go for the steaks!! two steaks, both tough to chew!! go for the perch but skip the coleslaw as it was dry as a bone! I only suggest going for the perch but skip the over priced dry steaks!! would love to hear from the owner

My wife and I needed a getaway! For a change we opted to sit at the bar. The bartender did not seem fully at ease, and I must say I never recalled anyone eating at the bar during our previous visits. That said, it was still a good overall experience! We started with adult beverages, a Manhattan for me and a Whisky Sour for my wife. Sitting at the bar, it's nice to watch the preparation. My wife really enjoyed her beverage and mine was pretty good. I only needed to remind the bartender to add bitters to my Manhattan. Unfortunately they did not have Angostura Bitters, only Orange. Oh well. We did not order any appetizers. My wife decided on their Chicken Strips with a Spinach Salad and Curled French Fries while I opted for their Fried Shrimp and Scallops, Rice Pilaf, and French Onion Soup. The soup was served along with my wife's salad. I thought the soup was very delicious! My wife's salad was fresh and the warm bacon dressing flavorful. Our main courses came out after we were finished with the firsts. My wife's chicken strips had a light cornmeal breading and the fries were really thick. My scallops and shrimp were fairly large with the same cornmeal breading. Very delicious! Overall a pretty good visit. We arrived about 1645 and departed about an hour later without seeing anyone else come in?

I got a Sirloin steak that was UNEDIBLE, the owner discounted my meal $12.00. So. I paid 12.49 for a salad and baked potato. It had been 5 years since I'd been there due to bad food. The way to get me back again would have been a voucher for another meal. Probably be another 5 years before I go back.

I grew up in Mansfield and never set foot in this restaurant until 20 years after I moved away. I don't know how it was back then, but it's now my go-to stop any time I'm in town.The food is INSANELY good, and I always order whatever is on the chalkboard for the special, because it's never let me down.Literally every time I'm back home, I make sure to head over to Oak Park and have dinner at least once.
