I love their Happy Hours & all day Happy Hour on Tuesday's. I enjoy their sliders during happy hour, along with a Queen Bee martini, made w/honey, vodka, lemon & lavender. ? I enjoy celebrating my birthday there with a friend who's birthday a couple days after mine. Ask to meet PJ, whom is one of the owners. A friendly group of ppl there & staff always makes sure you are served well & that if you are enjoying the food. A must go to for BBQ that they smoke themselves. ? They make their own BBQ sauces, 3 kinds, house, sweet or hot. Salsa is theirs too ?Rarely do I give 5 stars ? ? ? ? ?They have an outdoor patio by the street that is a GREAT location for the Annual Norman Music Festival !!

Should have taken the photo before but I don’t frequently review places.This place is the bomb.Wife and I split the When Pigs Fry for like 12 bucks and took leftovers home.Pulled pork had such a good smoke flavor to it.Beer and drink options on point.Need to go come back more often.

First time eating at The Meating Place and it was fantastic! Pulled pork and brisket were both moist and tender. The nachos, fries and baked beans only added to the amazing meal. If you haven't been to TMP yet, you should go today! Enjoy!

Been wanting to try this place for awhile and so glad we did tonight! Kylie took care of us and was amazing, making some great recommendations. Prices are affordable for BBQ, compared to some other Norman spots. Ribs were tender and great smoke flavor. Turkey was delicious and not dry. Brisket wasn't my favorite, but next time I'd ask for a leaner cut. Had the spicy Mac and cheese and Brussel sprouts as sides and they were some of the best I've had out! I would come back just for the Brussel sprouts. Sauce was of the vinegar variety, so not my cup of tea. Will be back, would like to try some other menu items.

Been going to the Meating Place for several years and it is my favorite place for barbeque in Norman. The decor is rustic and inviting. Staff have always been friendly and efficient. Their "wet sliced" brisket is really good as is their fried pickles, baked potato salad and fries. The pulled pork sandwich is also very good.

We love the Meating Place. I've been here several times and have never been disappointed. The meat is always juicy and delicious. Their bbq sauces are great. House is my favorite and the spicy is my partner's favorite. I think he would buy bottles of it if that was an option. When Pigs Fry is usually my go-to dish because it's been my fav since their days as just a food truck. The service is always great. The staff is so friendly. I also enjoy the minimalist design of the space. Nothing too flashy. I would, however, love if they changed their bar/high-top table stools. If you're a plus-sized person like myself, they are so uncomfortable to sit in--even for a short period.

Horrible food. Bbq sauces had something wrong with them. The chopped brisket was mainly just chucks of fat. After first bite of sauce went to restroom with upset stomach. The burger was bland and little bbq sauce put on it ruined it. Husband and i wanted to try something new and local and will not return.

Nice place with very helpful and courteous employees. Great beer selection. Conveniently located, but parking can be a challenge. Attended an event held upstairs in the Q Bar area. Bartenders were excellent, and the local drafts available were very much enjoyed. Seating was comfortable, although it did get a little warm and stuffy by the end of the evening when it was quite crowded. Large bar to sit at if you choose; there are regular chairs and stuffed couches and chairs, too. Food was okay. BBQ brisket was average, but sauce made it better. Pulled pork was dry. Potato salad was quite good, though, but other sides were average at best. Quesadillas eaten by someone with me were enjoyed, although I personally did not taste them. Food had been set up near the stairs, which was at the complete opposite end of the establishment than where I was seated, so by the time I got over to the table to retrieve a plate, many of the items were lukewarm. I'm sure if I had snagged a plate when it was first set up, I would have enjoyed it a whole lot more. I had a good time because of the event I was attending. That and the beer offerings will be what remain as my memory of The Meating Place rather than the food.

Great BBQ with an equally great bar! I recommend the Piggy Mac (my wife's fav) or the any of the sandwiches. The potato salad is the best I've ever had. This place also (in my wife's opinion) has the best margarita in town). Not your run-of-the-mill BBQ place but in the best way possible!
