Ted's Café Escondido

What happened to Ted's visited the Outlet Mall location Sunday evening 11/23/25. Ordered the meal that comes with crispy taco 2 enchiladas and a tamales. Ordered everything beef the taco shell was stale and literally filled with dry unseasoned ground beef. The enchiladas were the same ground unseasoned dry beef wrapped in microwaved tortillas hard around the edges, covered in the same queso that came with the Chips. They were not enchiladas! Bland nuked soft tacos covered in queso at best. We took our daughter and he fiance so I couldn't say anything and ruin the evening for them. I don't mind spending $150.00, but what a disappointment!! The Southside location was decent back in the day but Sunday was a joke! Oh and the really young server kept making really bad tip jokes, while completely dropping the ball.

I had an amazing experience trying Ted’s cafe for the first time last night. I ordered a plate of sizzling fajitas, and the blend of fresh vegetables, tender meat, and bold spices was unlike anything I had ever tasted. The homemade salsa and warm tortilla chips were so good that I kept reaching for more without even realizing it. Our server Trey was friendly and took the time to explain the dishes, which made the experience even more enjoyable. By the time I left, I knew I had discovered a new favorite restaurant . I’m already looking forward to going back and trying something new.

I think the food quality has gone down since Ted's opened do many locations. It's just not as good as the original up on May! Service was great.

Ate dinner here tonight, waitress was shockingly rude, when asked for a bag of chips and tortillas to go she said no because we didn't tip her on my card. I intended to tip her with actual paper money but she insulted my friend as well. Definitely never had this kind of service before, we only came here because my favorite Mexican restaurant Ables was closed today. Can't imagine I'd ever come back here. Food was average. Shout out to Ables, try them instead, I recommend the Ramos plate. One love.

I dined here on 10/27/25 with my girlfriend for dinner. Service wasn’t good, we weren’t offered or given Soapillas after we finished our meal. :( When we asked for some they refused, said they had turned off the fryer.
