I walked in to this cute shop just to get away from the cold winds. The lady who I think is the owner was really warm and welcoming. They have cool cupcakes with names like Atlantic City and Chicago something. Anyways, I ended up getting 5 cupcakes and they were delicious. There was a small confusion with the billing and the lady slipped in a 6th cupcake as a sort of a goodwill gesture. Overall, great customer service and really nice cupcakes. My favourites were the peanut butter one and the lemon one ??

Today ,we picked our Son's bday cake,The icing tasted terrible and the chocolate sprinkles on them were so old ,it ruined our entire cake taste.Worst cake we can think of, I just threw the entire cake away as hardly people ate...Very disappointed and wish I did not order here and they could return my money.The cake turned out to be so expensive for a square slab with a edible photo picture, nothing fancy ..it costed 85$. Will never recommend.

Sugar city cupcakes did our wedding cake and cupcakes for the wedding, and they did such an amazing job! All the guests were blown away by the desserts, I would highly recommend!!

Best cupcakes in town. They use real butter in their butter cream and course grained sugar for the perfect balance on their icing. For the past 5 years, my family has only bought their cupcakes from here and are visibly disappointed if someone tries a new place.

I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy as I just had a terrible experience. It is my best friends Mother’s wedding and we had pre-ordered cupcakes for this event. Upon arrival, the cupcakes were ready and we went to load them into our vehicle but the packaging was insufficient and the box collapsed outside the building and ruined the cupcakes. We went back in and spoke with the owner and originally she told us the cupcakes would be re-made and we would be inconvenienced with an hour of our time. We patiently waited and once the cupcakes were ready, we were informed afterwards that we would be charged a fee for the cupcakes….. We were not aware prior to the cupcakes being made that there would be an outstanding balance. The owner is extremely unreasonable and would not cooperate with us. She claimed she could not feasibly eat the cost of the additional cupcakes as they “bended over backwards to complete our order.” As an owner of a business myself, mistakes happen and as a result you are required to own up to them but this was not the case today. The owner put 100% of the blame on us despite the packaging being the issue in this situation. Allegedly, this has not happened in the past but I have reason to believe the owner lied to us as the structural integrity of the packaging would be compromised if they continue to overload the box. Anyways…. All this to say you can’t fix stupid.

Absolutely outraged. This morning my brother went to go pick up cupcakes for our mother’s wedding. The cupcakes were absolutely stuffed into terrible packaging that not only ruined the icing on the cake… when we went to load them into the car the packaging collapsed due to being over packed & the cupcakes were completely ruined. The business owner offered to make another batch within the hour as the packaging was what caused the issue toppling them over, at no charge. Not only did this delay other errands that needed to be done in order to make this day a special one for our mother, when we went to pick up the cupcakes the owner charged us another service fee of $140… after OFFERING TO RESOLUTE THE PACKAGING ISSUE. We understand that this is a service, as a business you should revise your cheapstake packaging approach so you don’t have to justify “taking a loss” as the owner stated. Your customers are your business, fyi you lost your customer. Be better.

Shout out from Ottawa: My brother ordered a cake for a major family gathering being held in Barrie. The cake was lovely to look at, but also absolutely delicious which is a rare feat in my experience. If I lived in Barrie, it would be my go to place for celebration cakes. Flavourful, moist, not cloyingly sweet. If you decide to set up shop in Ottawa, I will be your first customer.

Omg I love these cupcakes. I have had a bunch of birthday cakes made over the years. They have consistently been prompt and polite, and have always managed to get my vision. I wish I could find pictures of every cake I've had made as I have been going there since pretty much when they opened.Thank you for helping me make some amazing memories. My children are in their 20s now and we still love our sugar city.
Absolutely phenomenal cupcakes. They have a delicious weight to them and are incredibly satisfying.I got them for a bachelorette party - where we all showed up with cupcakes and mine were the unanimously voted best ones.

I have used sugar city cupcakes a few times now for special occasions. I did my wedding cake, valentines day and just grabbed something as I passed by. They are great there, they listen to what you want and the flavors are amazing.

When communicating with them make sure you are clear as day because they misspelled my son's name on his FIRST birthday cake when i went to pick it up an hour prior to the party i was almost in tears that it said Mathan instead of Nathan, I also ordered a 6" smash cake and got a 4" instead. Someone was supposed to contact me to make it right but i never heard back from them of course. The only good part was that one of their employees tried her best to correct the spelling herself despite that not being her job.
Sooo happy with the turn out of this cake!Ordered a custom cake as a surprise for my mother, I wasn’t 100% sure of exactly what I wanted, just a general theme- the staff were so knowledgeable and creative! They were patient with helping me come up with the final cake look!They kept me up to date and contacted me regularly, it made me know I put this cake into the right hands!Cake came out so beautiful, and delicious- not dry at all!My go to sweet shop from now on!
