Business is closed up. Remove this business. I guess once they had to change their name they folded.

What a great find. The pub style food is terrific and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and although it was very busy, the service was prompt and very hospitable. Best, hottest cup of restaurant tea I’ve ever had. Will definitely return the next time we are in Kingston.

Not bad atmosphere other than the strangely odd club music being played. Some Christmas reefs lined the windows to attract people walking on the street. Dimly lit and cozy but the music made it feel very weird, I think they’re trying to hard to still be a “cool” bar. Paper menus were being reused!! Which was gross, they were crumpled and had stains on them which indicated that they should be thrown out. I had to ask the server for hand sanitizer before I touched my drink. Food was pretty good, Mac and cheese was tasty but had a bit of spice in it and when I asked what was in it, the server went on to say it’s his first day and that he didn’t know. I wish I mentioned to him that he should tell me he’ll find out for me but didn’t bother. Chilly cheese fries were at most subpar and pulled pork tacos couldn’t have been any smaller of a portion size. Cheap enough but the quality wasn’t worth it. Good drinks, mixed drink was made correctly but was given to me with a sopping wet bottom so it had looked like my drink was spilled. Beer was poured perfectly and was as well good. I had never had moose head before and I wasn’t disappointed. Some what of a mixed review but definitely should be checked out by the health and safety board because if they are reusing paper menus that can be printed off at 5 cents a copy when purchased in bulk, what else are they not doing right!? Or up to par with other restaurants and bars who are following COVID 19 protocols.

The place was very nice with a cosy vibe. We ordered the loaded queso as an appetizer and it was very delicious. The cheese was great but spicy which my wife loved. We ordered steak frites and The public house Montreal smoked meat with sides of French fries and tater tots. The steak frites was small which I expected but I ordered it as medium well and it came over done to be honest. The smoked meat was nice but nothing special. The tater tots and French fries were awesome though. They do have great deals upstairs for smaller portions or appetizers that I highly recommend.

Service was fine and fries were good but the nachos were practically burnt when we got them and hardly any cheese. Would not order them again.

where does someone begin, but to say; what an all around attention to detail within the hospitality industry, from great service, amazing food and cozy atmosphere then pair that with a nice beverage. Then there is the history of the building which is the actual impact of the whole experience, a must on any diners list.

I ordered take out from the Public House and it was ready in the 25 minutes indicated. The kids loved the 3 value meals (perogies, spaghetti, and pulled pork tacos) along with a large poutine. Excellent taste and price. The Lamb shank meal was superb with delicious lamb, homemade mash, gravey and fresh vegetables not over cooked. The soup of the day was homemade and really hit the spot. The Greek salad was tasty with homemade dressing, and the only negative was that it had a little too much red onion for me and could have done with some lettuce. Overall a very healthy and delicious meal experience. Currently the best take out in Kingston for quality, choice, price, and service.

Their lunch special burger and fries was around $7-8 with tax. The server allowed me to purchase a beer to go which was really nice of him because it doesn't come with a drink ($15 total) Its pretty horrible quality beef, worse than the frozen stuff in the box, with barely anything to go with it. I would strongly recommend not getting it for your regular 12 noon lunch. Head over to mcdonalds or A&W for a better tasting meal.

We had a nice waiter however that was the only pleasant thing about our visit. There was a long wait. We ordered pizza and a chicken wrap. The pizza was cold and not fresh, and we felt sick after.

Worst food and long wait for takeout.Ordered over the phone, they said 30 mins, showed up 35 mins later, waited another 20 mins. Restaurant is packed. Cant see how they could fit more tables in there.Ribs were seemingly frozen and microwaved. Very tough to get them off the bone. Fries tasted like yesterday’s, dry and stale. Corn on the cob was just two one-inch-long butts of the cob. Coleslaw was the highlight.Nachos were fine, pretty standard.

Sunday Funday at the Public House. Great menu! Range from $11 to $20 dishes for Sunday brunch. Mimosas, Ceasars and Redeye's are always on sale for brunch. Staff is friendly and polite. Support local!

Great staff. A clean and aesthetically soothing atmosphere.... I don't want to sound old, even though I am, but the music was all dance/edm. I was wearing a Slayer shirt, a guy I didn't know was wearing a Motorhead shirt. I'm not asking for Motorhead or Slayer.... trust me, I'm great friends with some very frequent customers who would just leave if "Hell Awaits" came on lmao. I would have just liked to hear a little more diversity. Prince? Madonna even lol

Formerly the Sir John A. Public House, the restaurant sits in a historically designated building dedicated to the Father of Concentration.***ALLERGY WARNING***The vegan burger was good although the nuts in it could be ground up a bit better. The Caesar salad was better than I expected.Rather nice place to go for a quick bit.
