I am not sure if its only mine…but why this burrito is soggy and greasy…? I did not want to eat this greasy food at 9am, so threw it out…:(

It pains me to leave a poor review for any vegan restaurant. Visiting London (first time in 15 years) and, I just had to check out every vegan-friendly locale. So far this was probably the least memorable experience. The gentleman making the food was very polite, 5 star service all the way. However, that's where the accolades end. I ordered a vegan chicked sandwich ($16), and a green smoothie ($10), total with taxes just shy of $30. The place itself - looking over the counter, towards the kitchen - looked poorly maintained (dirty rags on the floor, in plain view of customers, and just a general sense of questionable hygiene, if you will. Two customers came in shortly after I placed my order - and they were kept waiting for around 5-10 mins(?) or so, as the gentleman was making my food. A lady who appeared to possibly have been the owner, was chatting on her phone instead of serving the two guests. Eventually she finished her call, and ventured behind the counter to help her employee out. Did not instill any sense of appreciation for their customers in me.Once food was ready - it was mediocre, at best: a plain, ordinary white bun (the kind you get a truck stop or 7-Eleven), with a small piece of vegan chicken inside, your basic McDonald's grade lettuce, and a slice of tomato. That's about it. 5 or 6 (I counted) potato wedges on the side (that are sitting on the side of the counter, on a metal tray), reheated, and served up.The smoothie was - as promised - a few veggies and a banana blended up and served in a clear, unmarked plastic cup (if the wise eco-friendly proclamations on the wall were to offer any weight - why serve in plastic?). Anyway, for $30 (25 Swiss Francs back home), this was not a visit worth repeating. I sense this place may have once been something worthy of praise, but it appears those days may long be gone.

REALLY wish Elyse would come back here. Since the introduction of various replacements, I have literally not had one single order that wasn't bungled up. Every time I order lunch and am disappointed, I tell myself that it's the last time, and then another crazy day at the office comes along, and I cave in and order something else, only to be disappointed yet again. Today's winner: after clearly ordering breakfast tacos (with an emphatic SOFT shells), with a side garden salad (with an emphatic IN ADDITION to the potatoes that normally come with the tacos), I get hard shells (crushed of course, hence my loathing of hard shell tacos) and only the salad - no potatoes. Good times courtesy of the child at the counter who cannot focus to save his life.

It was very nice! It's a small space but it's always awesome to have a fully vegan menu. It says they are able to make items gluten free but not for 100% of items. I got a pumpkin latte that was DELICIOUS, the coconut whipped cream was such a treat on top. My non-vegan friends got sandwiches and liked them. I had called in advance for both gluten free/vegan baked goods but they only have them specific days of the week. Sad I missed out on those! They did have vegan cookies though when I went.

My favourite place to come for a coffee date! Attentive and friendly staff. Beverage prices are on par with other cafés, but food can be pricey. Not a fan of the baked goods though, I find the brownies too dry and the cookies are just okay.

decided to finally try this place since I've been working in the area for a while and always see it - couldn't have been more disappointed :( like someone else said, I really wanted to like it, but nothing about the experience was good. people were unfriendly, prices are insane, and the avocado toast I got for $10 came with ONE piece of toast which has literally never happened to me anywhere else...and I know this isn't reasonable because I can get a beautifully hand-made sandwich at the locally owned cafe down the road for the same price. so there's really no excuse :/ too bad because the concept is great.

Overhyped and overpriced. I want to like them so much, but time after time I'm disappointed and angry I wasted my money when there are way better vegan options available. Their bagel and "cream cheese" felt more like soggy bagel soup.

The health shakes are ridiculously expensive. I thought I'd try one anyway. Bought their turmeric shake for $11.30, and immediately regretted it. It was like 50% turmeric. I'm sure the guy got his proportions wrong, since no human could drink that shake as it was painful to take a single sip, it was so much turmeric. So I thought I'd come in and talk to them about it. I did, and they didn't even offer me another shake or a refund. I asked nicely if they could make me another shake with less turmeric and they said nope.
Delicious! If you're vegan or vegetarian you'll likely check them out with out my review (you should). If you're flexitarian or simply veg curious I would still highly recommend Plant Matter (they also have Plant Matter Kitchen). Our group enjoyed coffee and smoothies, soups, sandwiches, salads and everyone had an amazing chocolate chip cookie! Try it, you'll love it!
