I would like to keep this place a secret but an amazing place. The view is second to none. Huge portions you do not get in southern ontario for the same price. Parking is certainly questionable.

Parking: Very narrow.

First time at Average Joe and service was slow (45 minutes to get our food) but waiter was apologetic. My drink tasted great but my Joe Burger did not. The bacon was undercooked and the patty was burnt. I thought a burger would be a safe choice but could be an just an off night. Good thing they have the best views.

Great place with an excellent patio with a stunning view of trout lake, indoor seating on two levels, accessible bathroom. Had a colossal piece of thinly breaded pickerel with steamed veg and herbed potatoes for $35 and $6 sangria (Saturday special price). Dogs are allowed on the fully sheltered patio. Happy we picked this for our very late lunch/early dinner. Staff is professional and efficient. Quick service.

Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible parking and entry. Accessible bathroom.

Server recommended Clubhouse sandwich., best clubhouse I have ever had. Comprised a real grilled piece of chicken, only two pieces of bread, fresh avocado. Excellent fries. Definitely recommend

On the surface this place looks nice, but the management are very unprofessional with zero integrity. Manager vapes in the kitchen directly onto the plates of food. Took over a month to send me my last paycheque which isnt within the 10 day legal requirement. Do not support this business.

Delicious, courteous service and beautiful place. People who complain about the slowness….in any good restaurant it’s normal to wait. The restaurant is packed. Take a chill pill! ?

The entire experience was one of the best I've had. We couldn't ask for more. Portion sizes were amazing. I'm still full and it's 5 hours later. They also had the best hot sauce I've ever had from a restaurant. Keep up the good work. If I could give more stars I would.

A very nice restaurant by the lake. The waitresses were very friendly.

Parking: There are around 50 parking spaces at the restaurant itself. If these are full, the next larger parking space is 150 meters away.

Wheelchair accessibility: Everything from the parking lot to the restaurant is at ground level.

We stopped here on our long drive to the Toronto airport and had no idea it would be this amazing. We saw the good reviews but were still blown away. The food took a little while, but it was totally worth it because we could tell how fresh all the food was. The crepes were perfectly sweet and fresh and fruity, but not too sweet. The eggs benedict were cooked perfectly. The view out to the lake was gorgeous.

When we were done with our meal our server talked to us about our trip and where we were from. She was so friendly and genuine. The endless coffee and free donuts were just the cherry on top of a great brunch!

Vegetarian options: There were several vegetarian breakfast options, and a few more that I could have easily modified. There were way more vegetarian options that I am used to.

I was celebrating my 50th birthday in the place of my birth (North Bay, Ontario), hadn't been back there since I was a year or so old. I really wanted fish, we found this place while out on a rainy day checking out the area, and we are glad that we stopped. The fish was amazing! The dinner came with 2 larger pieces of Haddock, a plate of fries and really good coleslaw. Perfect for my birthday meal!

Dietary restrictions: I can't have gluten items or anything in the birch tree family. I was fine with the beer batter fish and the oil was fine on my system. I didn't have the tartar sauce just incase.

Coconut shrimp delicious, tried the sweet potato fritters no flavour or seasoning and tasted like they were fried in old oil, they were taken off the bill. my biggest pet peeve with this restaurant is the CHEAP CUTLERY the 50's diner has better cutlery.

Good food, good people, good vibes. We ordered the wings, Joe’s Burger, and chickpea burger. All were good. Beer was cold.
