Ristorante Sotto Sotto Oakville

Came here with a group for a 40th birthday on September 12. Service was excellent, our server was great. Cocktails were great, but the food was a major letdown. My family member and I both ordered the beef tenderloin and both came out looking beautiful and cooked exactly right, but the taste was very salty. I took a couple bites of the beef and rapini on the plate and it was so salty it was inedible, I had to chug my water. I raised the issue with the waiter who took the meal back, only for my exact piece of meat to come back out. They did not prepare a fresh plate, instead rinsed my meat and further cooked it (it was not medium rare anymore) and whereas it was less salty, it was still too salty. The rapini was exactly the same, super salty. We received a dessert platter as apologies but honestly should have just had the meal comped instead, especially for that steep of a price to pay for essentially salt. For a fine dining establishment, very disappointed in the food.

Great place, but very loud Group made restaurant difficult for business discussion. Chicken scallopini was not good. Very rubbery on the ends. Should have been thinner and cut with a fork. Disappointed 😞

Kinda racist, I didn’t receive a birthday cake although other guests received it while they were eating I was told mine was coming. I waited over 20 minutes. Still didn’t get it. I also had to wait about 25 minutes to get into the restaurant although I booked a reservation for six. it was clear my demographic wasn’t what was to be expected as I am a black individual. I was not treated as priority. I was also lied to not that I care about the cake, but it was my birthday and they told me I would be getting it so it’s very unfortunate that something like this still exist.

We had a reservation for 8:15 only to be seated at 8:50. Got charged 10$ each to have a 6” cake served on a plate for a friend’s birthday dinner. The server didn’t print the bill to show what we were charged for. Server barely checked up on us. The food was decent but took forever to come out.

Fabio and his staff were all amazing. Celebrated my 65th birthday here today. Everything is outstanding
Thanks for accommodating our party of 17. All of our guests were very impressed with the service from the manager Fabio, the lovely hostess and all the service crew. Special mention to the bartender the mocktail were refreshing. The chefs the food is amazing. Highly recommend Sotto Sotto Oakville ❤️

Love the Toronto restaurant but I live in Oakville and walk by this place all the time (it’s around the corner from Lululemon ) I was thinking about coming here for dinner tonight but looked up literally 1000 1 star reviews just to find out the food is cold, the service is terrible and management snotty. I will not be taking the chance.
There are many fine Italian restaurants in downtown Oakville. It seems a shame that one with a name like Soto Soto would be at the bottom of the list.
I cannot imagine spending hundreds of dollars at dinner with a restaurant with 3.8 star rating . How embarrassing for you. I would say this is a call for you to do better, but some of these reviews are literally years old so it looks like your restaurant has been rolling downhill for quite a while. Perhaps it would be best if you went away and let this beautiful space to a restaurant that could do better. Thank you, but no thank you.

I am a person with a disability. I called to get accessibility information and I was asked by one of the staff members on the phone what was my disability. Wow Sotto Sotto you really need to train your staff on the AODA Accessibility for Ontarins with Disabilities Act law because it can cost you a $50,000 dollar fine per day for non-compliancem

Well appointed restaurant in an enviable location. At best, mediocre food. Once the steaks were great. Service is very shoddy, patronizing and frankly a bit insulting. We ordered 1/2 bottle of wine. Server brought out a Mini. Which is 187 mls exactly. Just enough for one serving. Insisted it was a 1/2 bottle.
With places like Oliver’s and Trattoria with professional service and spectacular cuisine I cant imagine returning.

They seem too high headed to allow people to dine in especially if they are wearing baseball caps. And if due to medical reasons, they can’t remove them, they are asked to leave. I didn’t realize we were still living in mussolini regime, the italians have done it again

I used to love this place and it was a 10/10 with AMAZING customer service.

However past two times were just disappointing. I ordered a Shirley temple and when it came, it was made completely wrong. The server kept gaslighting me that it was only made this way. Then I went again, with another server and had my perfect shirly temple, I had always gotten here. Yet the old server had the audacity to argue with me infront of everyone.

Today we got fungi mushroom pizza, and it was made really bad. It was super dry and not good. I also made a mistake of ordering it because my husband cannot eat mushrooms. I asked if we could change it for the margarita pizza and the server said no, and we would still pay for it. Even though I could eat it, I sent it back because it was not made good so there was no point of me eating it. I rarely ever have mix ups like this at restaurants but when I do the restaurant is very accommodating. She simply said no and made me pay for the pizza we fully sent back as a whole.

Wow has this place gone downhill! It’s been years since our last visit @ downtown location, first time here. Had an early dinner reservation. Warning: $150./ person including 1 glass of wine & a cappuccino! No balsamic vinegar available to go with olive oil & housemade sourdough bread. Cutbacks? Grilled Oretta fish was just ok & still had bones despite promise of being filleted. We felt badgered by our server to hurry up & order, reminding us of the 2 hour time limit for a party of 3 she said. Don’t spend your money here. It’s not that great anymore. It’s very expensive for unimaginative, just ok food. Their trading on their past. Not worth the excess $.
