I ordered Chicken Katsu. What I got was a piece of deep-fried chicken (as in commercial chicken burger style) covered in a mild tomato sauce. Farthest thing from Chicken Katsu that I have ever experienced. Also had beef Galbi which was simply galbi ribs broiled under broiler rather than bar-b-qued. I will never go back to this place (after eating there for years!!!) They are going out of business at the Rideau location at end of this month and it shows. Hopefully their other location learns from this posting.

- FOOD: The beoseot bulgogi was great and reasonably priced. Very filling.- SERVICE: Took a decent amount of time to be seated. One of the servers spilled sauce over the table/me/the floor and didn’t notice, which was frustrating.Service aside, big fan of the food at Alirang (my second time here).

Been to Alirang a few times and will certainly be back. Sometimes when busy, the wait time is longer than usual, but to be expected of any busy restaurant. The food is amazing and authentic. One of my favourite korean restaurants in ottawa, highly recommend the Dukbaegi and short ribs.

Very delicious. The place seemed to be understaffed though and took a while for the food to arrive. There was also a long line up and customers who were unattended for a long time.
The Gamjatang at Alirang is without any qualifications the best Korean dish you can get in the western world. And to be honest Alirang in my opinion does the best Korean anywhere outside of Korea. Whether it be expensive KBBQ in Tokyo or Shanghai, Michelin starred Korean fine dining in London, or KFusion in Sao Paolo you'll never feel like you're eating at 엄마's table the way you do at Alirang. The bottomless banchan is just what mom would give you.I live thousands of miles away now but not a week goes by, especially in winter, when I don't think about a steaming bowl of Alirang's Gamjatang with delicious potatoes and kimchi on the side.Trust me. I've been all over. This is the real deal.
Recommended dishes: Duck Bokum, Army Stew Hot Pot, Pajeon, Japchae, Soondubu

Makes you feel like you're in a korean home. Food was excellent! And service was good! I will definitely be coming back!
Hey there, I just wanted to drop a little review about my visit today to your spot. So, I was all pumped to introduce our friends to your fantastic cuisine. But we had an AWFUL experience with one of your SERVERS, who is a Chinese dude wearing a Christian cross. Here's the scoop: My friends were first-timers, and we never knew that the rice portions depended on the "server's ability," eh? So, they politely asked for four servings of rice for our group of four. Well, this server, he got kinda impatient and came back with a sarcastic line like, "You think I can carry all that, eh?" Not cool, folks. What really got to us, though, was that we noticed this server treating Chinese customers differently from folks of other nationalities. That's a clear case of RACIAL DISCRIMINATION, ya know? We do not expect elegant services, at least polite with upbringing. Now, don't get me wrong, we absolutely love your food, but this experience left a sour taste in our mouths, eh? We hope you'll look into this issue 'cause we'd hate to miss out on your grub just because of some service hiccups, eh? Thanks for listening, eh!

The restaurant was very tasty. The bulgogi was very good with a sweet and salty flavor that was very unique. The Chicken Catsu was also very flavourful with a very strong and tasty Korean Barbeque.
