Our food got to our table before we got our drinks (30mins later), and didn't get water until 40mins after. The Mac & cheese was great. They did let us know they were short staffed. Our group was disappointed but to be expected during the holidays

Enjoyed a couple of local pints after a morning of walking and sight-seeing. Fish and chips were very nice too.

Love the food. Lots of beer choices including micro breweries. Very traditional pub inside and lovely patio with view.

Spent an evening there on a Sunday and were very well taken care of by staff and owners. Had a great beer selection, some games to play, good atmosphere and great conversation.

Fantastic food and service. Stopped in between museum tours for lunch - food was great, service was awesome, and the pints were a perfect pour. Highly recommend.

I had the club sandwich and poutine, which was ample sized and really tasty. The patio was also spacious and we really enjoyed it there. I will definitely return.

Excellent fish & chips. Fish cooked to perfection. Nice crispy fries. even the coleslaw was delish-it had fresh dill in it. Chardonnay was good too. Music was too loud, though.

We started with drinks outside and the the server returned after taking orders to inform us that they could not provide the wine ordered because someone had taken the only corkscrew home after their shift (yes really!). Some people then ordered the recommended cider as an alternative, the server return to inform us that they were out of that cider. Meanwhile the outside TV speakers were so loud it was hard to talk among the 6 of us (the US Open golf was on and there was only one other group on the large patio). We then went on to order food and the fish tacos were a favourite and chosen by 4 people. The server returned to tell us that they were out of the fish. A compromise of salmon tacos was invented. The server was pleasant and engaging and tried to diffuse the issues with light humour but overall, the experience was very disappointing. The place was almost empty inside and outside … for obvious reasons.

Earl of Sussex is in a time warp that dates back to 1984. Good music excellent food and the time warp particularly applies to the prices, inflation has not seen this menu since 1984 I suspect that will change shortly. Until then shepherd's pie made with real lamb 15 bucks fish tacos under $10. And when you ask for 2 fingers of scotch whiskey here you get two phat fingers.
