Gokumi Sushi & Steak Bar

The flavours are there! Had a great time eating here. The ribeye had a lot of flavor and was cooked perfectly.

We visited on a Friday night where the restaurant was pretty overwhelmed with both dine in and take out. Our server tried to keep up but it was just a bit chaotic. She apologized and tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Besides that, the food was good. The steak was done just right! The ramen portion was VERY generous. Overall, I would recommend but concern about the speed of food delivery.

My bf took me for Valentines day, we both got Ramen and neither of us could finish our portions. I loved the setting inside, it was very nice place to visit and an affordable date. :)

First time trying sushi since moving to this area in 2018 from Vancouver. Figured I'd give Gokumi a try. Ordered sushi and butter chicken. With tax and tip and a the total was $45, well that and a diet Pepsi since it was about a 15 minute wait which is reasonable. The portions where amazing. I ordered the sushi for myself and my wife was craving something with curry so butter chicken it is. I brought this home for lunch and neither of us could finish therefore it became dinner. The sushi was great.. on par for a decent sushi. My wife loved the butter chicken! I had a small bite and yum!Will revisit Gokumi!

More than I expected!Surprised by the size and beautiful decor once I steps inside. Was quickly greeted by the wonderful staff who was very accommodating for my daughter's order. The price was fair and the food was fresh and delicious. They even made a small order of thoer chicken for my dog and it was better than KFC. I would definitely come back to dine an and I highly recommend this restaurant ♡

I'm giving three stars not because of the food but all the troubles I had placing an order over the phone. I have also heard from friends that they have had the same problems with their take out orders. Their phone seems to have such a bad connection that it takes twice the time needed to place an order. It is quite frustrating. Id suggest either going in or delivery through the app instead of calling if you don't have much patience. As always, sushi was fresh and I also ordered chicken dumplings and miso soup which was as tasty as it should be.

These folks deserve recognition. Putting out food of the highest quality and service is on point. They've decorated the space they have beautifully.

Terrible service and a very long wait despite not being busy. I was done my meal before my husband got his. Sushi was very good. Recommend ordering ahead.

We always have such a lovely experience at Gokumi! So glad we can enjoy a glass of wine with dinner now though! Fresh Sushi, charming staff, and lovely restaurant. If you want to keep a gem of a restaurant local, support this business! It’s nice not to have to go to Pembroke for a decent meal & sit down experience.

In my opinion the nicest restaurant in Petawawa. We ordered steak, sushi, and spring rolls. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the presentation was flawless. Also by far the best sushi in town, super fresh and the spread was picture worthy.Service was fast, and the waitress that helped us was kind and professional.

It was the worst meal I have ever eaten in a restaurant.We had ribeye steak,at least half of the steak was pure fat.All that comes with the steak are a couple of cherry tomatoes and couple slices cucumbers.The meal was disgusting and the service was terrible.When we expressed our concerns,all we got was sorry and they gave us a $20 discount.I can't believe that any chef would serve those steaks. to anyone

All I can say is Wow! Petawawa definitely has an amazing sushi place in town with great options for non-sushi eaters. We ordered take out and it did not disappoint!The Korean style chicken, sweet potato fries, chicken springrolls, and even Spaghetti was to die for an approved by the pickiest of eaters.I thoroughly enjoyed my Maki Rolls and Miso Soup, they had great flavour and the rice was just perfect.If you're wanting good sushi, don't hesitate with Gokumi!

Kid-friendliness: My kids loved the plain Korean style chicken and Spaghetti they picked for dinner.

You can't tell from the outside of the building but Gokumi boasts a terrific ambience, perfectly appropriate for their menu. (They really need to take down the window posters so folks can see inside). The quality of the food reflects the professionalism of the staff. I have eaten there multiple times and the food is consistently good. If you are looking for a place to take someone you want to impress (or rekindle an old flame), this is the spot for you.
