The price of a Pea Meal on a bun is now $9.00 it's just too much for me. i don't think i will be getting this anymore.?I think they expect the tip for this.

It’s okay. Came because of the “must try peameal” sandwich. Basically thick sliced and very very salty ham on a big fresh bun with some sauce. Served in under 2 minutes- warm and wrapped in foil. Maybe I don’t get it, but I wouldn’t pass it on to a fellow traveler as a “must”. $9 all in - cash only. Atmosphere is a warehouse style market with loud fans and limited seating. Lots of other stuff to explore in the mostly food based market. Travellers might like some of the baking or anything else that you can consume on the spot.

One of the best sandwiches I ever had. What made this experience special was hearing the story of the business of how it came about. It first started with his father working for someone in the market many many menu years ago, where he learned to work with meat. To eventually leaving that place to start his own. With taking pride in his work, the father took many years to study the art of meat, the art of the ingredients to one day ... magic. The magic that made people coming back for more.Go say hi and ask to hear the story. You are not only buying an amazing sandwich, you're also getting history, to enjoy the history one bite at a time?

The worst empanada I have ever had.Hitting up St. Lawrence Market, I’m always hoping to snag a snack that feels worth the splurge, given the place is always buzzing and prices are on the higher side. But, my stop at Carousel Bakery was a letdown. Despite the walls plastered with rave reviews from newspapers and magazines that now feel like ancient history, my pick of a beef empanada for around $10 didn’t hit the spot. They zapped it in the microwave until it was boiling hot – which wasn’t cool at all. It went from scorching to a disappointing texture: dry, tough, and nowhere near crispy. Plus, the beef was as bland as anything. And yep, it’s cash only here, which just adds to the hassle. For a spot in such a famed market, Carousel Bakery really missed the mark for me.

The Peameal Bacon on a bun was salty, not much flavor, and didn't live up to the hype. The custard was good but a bit on the sweet side. The maple walnut was good, but super sweet. Customer service was awesome. They were fast and took USD as well as Canadian dollars. Love that there was seating right in front. This was our first time here and will probably be the last.

Another fave go to place when I'm in St. Lawrence Market is Carousel Bakery.I know a lot of people prefer Uno Mustachio's Veal Parmigiana but I love Carousel's amazing Italian Veal Parmigiana sandwich.Aside from being cheaper (than Uno's), the sandwich is loaded with the right amount of meat sauce and toppings. It starts with a soft ciabatta bread and nestled inside is a sliced veal cutlet, breaded and crispy loaded with rich tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella cheese. One bite and your mouth is hit all at once with a sweet, savoury, umami flavour. I tried their other sandwiches but I think the veal sandwich is the one worth trying.Service albeit unfriendly is fast as they have lots of staff to help you.

Being in Toronto, you gotta try the peameal bacon sandwich. The bacon was alright and the bun was a little tough and dry, but it's something you have to experience at least once.

Walked 20 min from my office today. The staff was beyond friendly and treated me like family. The pemeal was tender in a way I've never tasted before. Absolutely amazing. Freshly made. Soft bun.All around an incredible lunch. Great price - most items are under 10$.

Why 3 stars? Inconsistency.- they will get your order right 70% of the time. They mess up sauce selection quite a bit.- sometimes they rush making the sandwich and it shows- staff are generally not the friendliest. You could get a 5 star great sandwich or a 1 star sandwich. Total gamble.Try paddingtons in the market they have a good pemeal sandwich with way higher reliability.
