A colleague chose Taverna Mercatto for his retirement dinner with the team as we've been previously. We got the last Porterhouse Steak of the day to share among 5 people, it was a great portion to have alongside our individual meals. The service and ambience were great for the occasion!

Met a friend for a quick weekday lunch. Service was great and attentive. Food was excellent - we shared a pizza and a salad and both were perfect portions to share. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back.

I had a nice meal (shrimp salad and warm olives) and the ambience was very vibrant and pleasant. It is a fairly big place with a large dining area, bar and patio. A good place to have lunch beige going to catch a Jays game or afterwards for dinner.

Though we had a reservation well in advance, we were seated in one of the least favourable spots — in a busy area right beside the servers “desk”. Having been here many times before, we were looking forward to a flavourful dinner in an easy-going atmosphere. The food was bland and the service felt rushed. Perhaps an ‘off night' but I will not be hurrying back.

Food was quite tasty, but the service was pretty slow and our server constantly walked past us without saying a word or checking on us. It wasn't due to it being really busy but she seemed to be more interested in visiting with co workers.

Excellent food, service & atmosphere. If I had to pick at something to complain about, it was a little noisy and a little on the pricey side, but it still wouldn't prevent us from eating here again. Thanks Taverna Mercatto for a wonderful evening.

Fantastic service. Drinks were a little expensive and not full but great taste. Pizza salad and deserts were really good. Our server recommended really good pizza. Tuna appetizer was very tasty would highly recommended.

Our experience was good but also felt incomplete. We mentioned in our reservation that our reservation for an anniversary dinner. I am guessing that they don't look at that or didn't really acknowledge such notes in their reservation. Service was average but the food was good.

Always a pleasant hello from an adorable hostess who greets us like long lost friends, great service and solid plate of lasagna and beet salad, not our first time and not our last!

The food taste was nothing to write home about for an Italian restaurant. The establishment was close to the hotel so it did serve a purpose and its bar size seems to accommodate a lot of people. Perhaps to come back for lunch would be a better choice or just for drinks before going to a game if ever in the area again I would give it a shot

The only negative I have to say is the tables are way too close together. My partner and I couldn't talk much because the people beside us were loud and we could hear every word of their conversation. We were almost touching elbows it was so close. The chairs were wood and very uncomfortable also. Other than that it was amazing. Would definitely be back.

I found Taverna Mercatto to be great value considering where it is in the city. Wedged right between Scotiabank Arena and SkyDome (Rogers Center, ugh) you would think you would have to pay a premium, especially for good service. However I am happy to say I found the food, service, and wine selection to be top notch and the prices very reasonable. Great place for before or after a game or show. Special shout out to the sommelier who introduced us to a great wine that was a great price.

The food was delicious. The lasagna was outstanding! The cocktails were excellent, as was the wine. The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Overall, we had a wonderful experience.

Great place to head to after the jays game. Nice large patio. Nice service. Friendly waiter. Prices weren't much higher than any other nice restaurant downtown or even uptown even though in the heart of Bremnar /scotia arena area. Fried calamari delish as was the caprese salad with the soft cheese...mmmm The charred lasagna was unique in that the noodles were set on their sides with a very lovely bechamel sauce and bolognese meat sauce. Other members of our table for four ordered the linguine seafood and two other pastas. All equally good!!!! Would totally recommend and will come back after our next game.

We showed up after visiting a gallery with hungry 12 and 14 year old. Service was friendly, fast and very accommodating. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed and had a nice evening!
