Ate there tonight. I had 3 different tacos.. The chicken was the only good one out of the 3. The remainder of the tacos... I could have made it at home with cold cuts and it would have tasted better..Shortly after getting home from the restaurant I had the Mexican bug hit me... Straight to the washroom... And I've been to Mexico a few times with out getting the bug...

cute interior design however the food was extremely dissatisfying and we didn’t enjoy our drinks, guacamole, street corn, or our tacos at all. sadly, the server barely checked on us and music and surrounding guests were way too loud for our romantic date night, we could barely hear each other!

We've been waiting to try Surf for quite a while and we were very pleased with our experience overall! The service was great; very attentive and quick. We were able to order once we were ready, had drink refills throughout dinner and the staff were very polite.The food was great too. We had the brussel sprouts and guacamole to start. Both were amazing. The portions for the apps were huge too - we didn't finish either appetizer even though two of us were sharing.For our meals we got tacos as they were recommended, and rightfully so. We had chicken and carnitas. Both were amazing.Dessert was Churos, one with vanilla and one with coconut ice cream. Both great. Vanilla was our favourite :)I highly recommend Surf and it's an amazing addition so some great restaurants in downtown Whitby!!

Came for dinner tonight. I ordered a few cocktails and had some dinner. All in all the experience was really nice. Cocktails were excellently prepared with care, the blood orange margarita was delicious, and the "fuego" was nice and spicy with a good amount of tequila. I would definitely be back for both of these drinks alone.Now for the food. The guac and chips were excellent as an appetizer, the chips nice and hot, and the guac nice and fresh. This was definitely made to order and a much larger than expected portion. I really loved it. The roasted brussel sprouts were also great, and so was the aoili that accompanied it. Definitely, both of the apps hit right on the mark.Unfortunately, the tacos missed the mark and left some big room for improvement. The fish taco was crisp and light and included a large portion of fish that appeared to be fresh, not frozen, which was awesome to see. That being said, the taco was missing something, perhaps some spice or further seasoning. It was overall quite good, but it definitely could be great with some further fine tweaking. The Carnitas taco, on the other hand, was not very good at all, sadly. Carnitas, to me, should be tender and full of flavor. Unfortunately, we were served pork shoulder that was tough, dry, and with almost no flavor. It did not seem to be seasoned in a complementary way and is definitely an area for major improvement.Overall, because of the 5 star service and all of the other great dishes, I gave the meal 4 stars.I will be back and hopeful that they will address the issue with the Carnitas. I'm happy to see some decent food in Whitby. ????

Have wanted to try Surf for quite a long time, and but left the place quite disappointed.The staffs were friendly and attentive, the cocktails were good, however the carnitas taco i ordered didn't meet my expectation considering it's $8 per taco. The taste was bland, the meat was very dry, other than the portion for a $8 taco, i can't really say any good thing about it.Hopefully i can come back and taste other snacks and foods

Lindsay was our server. Came here for the food and atmosphere as a result of the good reviews. Indeed we were not disappointed. The restaurant had fun decor and the food was great. We had fuax, street corn, mock tails, tacos and the dessert. Lindsay was very friendly and helpful, such that I thought she was the owner due to her passion. We can't wait to be back.
