Spontaneity bit my hubby and I in the butt today when we decided to not adult and run to the coast for pre birthday dinner. Yeah , silly us Saturday Cannon Beach, no reservations. Oh well, then we remembered Bouy! We have been meaning to go and then the roof collapse …. You get the picture. We stopped by on our way home and not only did they have a FREAKING JALAPEÑO/ pineapple MARGARITA , they had steamed clams. Hubby loved his burger special and can I just mention the dill dipping sauce for the fries??? So good! Thank you all so much for a great meal in a great space. You saved our long fruitless drive and my pre birthday celebration. If you haven’t been, go you won’t be disappointed , get a beer sampler , eat the fries ask for extra dill sauce then order dinner. Be prepared to be wowed. Pub food kicked up all the notches!

Maybe my favorite fish & chips ever. The space is different for now but the food is still excellent, staff is friendly and love the local brews.

Unfortunately they were undergoing some remodeling so they had a very limited menu and super limited tap available. The staff was super nice though, but our plan to eat and enjoy the location didn't happen. We left with a six pack and that's all

Pretty cool place, fantastic selection of beer! Rockfish and chips is pretty good too. The view is fabulous, seating is a bit less now as they have downsized a bit. Expect great parking if it's not busy, for sure have a walk around and see if you spot some seals! If you can't they might be under the bar and you might see them through the viewing window they have on the floor!

We visited Buoy twice in the two days we spent in Astoria because we were so charmed by it vibes. The weather was chilly while we were there, so we sat by the fire drinking beers, snacking (bratwurst one day; fish & chips the next), and pal-ing around with the many sea lions and friendly travelers. Would highly recommend.

Amazing spot! Friendly service, great food and beer, and an amazing spot to watch the sea lions! You might even get to see one napping through the glass floor ;)!

COVID has really changed this place. Our group of 7 came in for lunch 11:30 and ordered at the counter as now is the current custom. We each paid for our own lunch so didn't get think to get one number for the whole group. As it was the person who ordered last got her meal 20 min before the next person. Then another person at our table got their lunch. 45 min later 2 more lunches showed up. As most of the rest of the group finished their last bite the last two lunches showed up. The menu is limited so I am wondering if they only have one person working in the kitchen and 3 people taking the food around to the tables. People grab their own seats and the order numbers are random. Service staff are wandering around the restaurant, the pub area and outdoors hoping to find the number for the order they are carrying around. Seems like a lot of wasted time and frustrated staff and customers. Get some pagers and let people pick up their own food and put those wandering staff to work in the kitchen. Hope after the kitchen remodel is completed the excellent customer service will return.

We were so grateful for this recommendation! The clam chowder hit the spot on this cold day and I enjoyed the apple cider. Bonus: sea lions perch underneath, napping and some were barking so loudly for attention.

Hangry, looking for good food. They only had chowder, chips & salsa and a couple of other things we did don't want. Pics on the web looked good. Disappointed.

The food is good and fresh, the beer is good and fresh. Then you have your beer and the food comes, and the boats pass, and the wind is in your hair, and the buoy keeps bopping. What else do you need? A must stop in Astoria, as much for the view as he beer and food.

We stopped by the Buoy Beer Company in Astoria on our way to Cannon Beach. We had their Dunkel lager which they describe as a Munich Dunkel. I have had lots of Dunkel beer in Munich and Germany and it didn’t taste like this, but nonetheless I liked it. We also had a Tsunami Stout from Pelican Brewery which they were pouring at the time. It is a great beer for any stout drinker. We liked the fact that they didn't only pour their own beers. It provides more choice. Buoy offers a limited menu, with 3 or 4 daily specials made on site plus clam chowder and several snack foods. They also offer a charcuterie box and a couple of sandwiches from Gaetano’s Market & Deli. The staff was friendly and all were wearing masks per the state mandate. We ordered their clam chowder which was excellent. We also had their Shrimp cakes which was one of the daily specials. The shrimp cakes were great. We will definitely stop here again the next time we’re in Astoria.

Wonderful staff, pleasant surroundings and outstanding selection of beer. I would rank in the top 15 of over 100 places I have visited.

Nice energy in the place. Great view. I really enjoyed my beer. The fish and chips were outstanding. Wasn't quite as pleased with the brat. Overall, though, glad we went.
