Classic dive bar in a tough neighborhood. It’s crazy that the bartenders have so much patience with the day to day crowd. Food is also way above average! I didn’t like an interaction today with the busy bartender and an impatient “manager”. As a manager you must know that taking care of customers is important before your needs. Mad respect because the bartender played it so cool and moved on. Recommend this place because staff is great and food is legit.

Wasn’t expecting this bar to be much tbh but the food was great and the bartender was awesome. Portland service can be hit or miss but Remy was awesome and instantly made me feel welcome and taken care of !

Tried this place for dinner and brews before a show at the Roseland. ColdvRainier tallboys for $4. Got the pepperoni pizza and it was tasty and had a good crust. Would recommend.

I've been visiting this place since it was the pizza place just before it was taken over by new management to become The River. There were a lot of improvements made which seems to have improved the kind of patrons you see there now. It's too bad they didn't keep the previous bartenders who had been there for a long time but, the new one's seem nice too. They have a full bar, lots of big screens to watch the games, pool tables, video lottery. It's pretty busy in the weekends and there is security at the door.

This place is consistently better than expected. Always get excellent service from the bartenders, Jimmy was on today and he was very friendly and made great drinks. The food is always great, with large portions and great flavor. The mac and cheese is huge for the price and the chips and guac.....fresh guac and hot chips 🤤 Plus free pool. Love this place, you gotta come see for yourself.
**Update 8/31- finally got the same of my face bartender here, Remy! She is the best! Fun, friendly, and so authentic. Another great time at the River, thank you!
