YOU WILL GET SICK, old tofu served (after placing order in the morning, I am a cook this tofu was from previous night) soaked in oil, rubbery, oil tasted like meat, if you are veg cross contamination is inevitable. So much oil almost offensive. Thanks for that trip to toilet 🚽

This was my 2nd time going. This auspicious restaurant has amazing food. Quiet friendly atmosphere. And an easy location to find within walking distance of the Hollywood TriMet stop

I have been eating here for 8 years and I have noticed little changes over time and now I just can’t eat there. I bet I have eaten there 40-50 times. No longer after yesterday. I used to dream about their pot stickers and now they are not even eatable. They offered me money back which was good. I told them I won’t be able to eat here again, that the quality has decreased and it was like it was no big deal. It seems only men work there and their responsiveness and customer service is lacking. The place used to be packed and now that’s not the case. They need new management and a chef in the kitchen that cares.

I believe this place is under new management. They need to get it together or the place will not survive. The sweet and sour chicken overdone. I used to love it. The famous garlic green beans used to be a thing to dream about ordering, this stuff was close to being soggy and had NO flavor. The rice, the grains were falling apart and didn't have that high quality rice scent that I lo ve. I ordered pot stickers, and I got some sorta breaded pork ball. The filling was flavorless, we ate the centers and tossed the very greasy breading. We ate more than we should cause we were hungry. Who ever owns this now is trying to replicate the original owners. If there were any positives, I liked the reusable carry out bags and the food was ready within 20 mins and the host was friendly. But, I dont want to spend over $50 on 3 terrible items in a great carry out bag. Not going back!

I can only rate the food because I ordered on Uber Eats but I got the cashew chicken chow mein kung pao chicken and the Szechuan spicy chicken. No one in my family of 4 ate it. It was honestly the worst thing I've tried in along time. Not only was it not anything close to Chinese I've ever had ot lacked a good taste to anything. I hate giving bad reviews but man I spent over 70 bucks and ended up throwing in a frozen pizza.

Our group of about a dozen friends gathered for lunch at Shandong. While ordering, our server abruptly informed us that they do not split bills and required either cash payments or all charges on a single card. This policy wasn't mentioned on their website, signage, or beforehand. We asked about moving to separate tables. Could we use our cards if we did that? The server was flat out RUDE, making faces at us, shrugging and passive-aggressively letting us know that she was not going to give an inch. This led four of us to leave to go to the nearby Sushi place. (Very good, by the way). We've enjoyed group lunches across Portland without ever encountering this cash-only/one-card-only policy. Today's experience (Wed, June 25) was marked by rudeness, inflexibility, and a complete lack of customer appreciation. We won't be back.

5 stars is not an over exaggeration
We ate here pre Covid and we finally were back on this side of town to eat here again. Sizzling rice soup chicken green beans... literally every dish was amazing. You definitely won't find an issue with staff food or atmosphere. Just a great place to have a good meal
