My coworkers and I went there yesterday to celebrate my upcoming wedding. Cristom was our first stop. Our hostess was absolutely amazing! She told us all about the Vineyard and the family history. She made every bit of our stop informative and fun. The charcuterie board was also plentiful and delicious. We ended up staying longer than we had planned. The entire experience was so great that I decided to be a club member. I purchased six additional bottles because they were that good! Today at work, everyone kept talking about Cristom and what a wonderful experience it was and how delicious the wines were. We went to two other wineries after Cristom. Cristom was easily the favorite of everyone in our group.
Some friends and I were recently in the Valley doing a bit of tasting and decided to make a last minute stop at Cristom before heading home. What a great decision that was! The tasting room staff was extremely attentive and very informative. Thanks for the wonderful experience!
Our first visit to Oregon vinyards and this was our absolute favorite for the selections. Not a spectacular view unless you enjoy a view of the beautiful vinyards. But are you looking for a special view or fabelous wine? We can't just visit the vinyard from over here in Florida but we have ordered 5 cases of Rose and Pinot Gris and have thoroughly enjoyed them.. very knowledgable staff and everyone is super friendly. If you're out this way definatly one not to miss.
Found this amazing place thanks to my Airbnb guest: If you haven't done Bryn Mawl please do. Best views of any of the vineyards we went too. Cristom had best wine. Argylle, Four Graces and Erath are some of my favorite wines. All just awesome. Thank you again for everything. Just an great experience and we will be coming back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our Estate experience at Cristom. We made reservations in advance and were the only two guests during the tour. Our tour guide was a sommelier and was extremely knowledgeable about all things wine, which was great because we felt comfortable asking a plethora of questions. We started out with a line-up of the three wines: 2018 Estate Rose (Eola-Amity Hills, Willamette Valley), 2017 Mt. Jefferson Cuvee Pinot (Noir Willamette Valley), and the 2016 Estate Syrah (Eola-Amity Hills/Willamette Valley). While we sipped on these wines, we played a bit of a smelling/guess that odor game which is used to help guests with identifying tasting notes. After enjoying those wines, we piled into the Cristom car for a drive around the vineyards. This was an incredibly unique experience as we've never been driven into and around the vineyards before. We visited several of their blocks and were able to sample pinot noir, viognier, and syrah grapes straight off the vine. It was also nice to look out from the top of the hill over the expansive Oregon countryside. We also stopped by a dirt pit and scrambled around that for bit, which allowed us to gain a better understanding of the soil types at Cristom. Upon returning to the tasting room, we enjoyed a charcuterie board along with our last four wines - all pinot noirs: 2017 AVA Series (Dundee Hills), 2017 AVA Series (McMinnville), 2017 AVA Series (Eola-Amity Hills), and the 2017 Eileen Vineyard (Eola-Amity Hills). We also got to sample a bit of the 2017 Jesse Vineyard Pinot Noir. All of the wines were delicious and well balanced - nothing was too earthy or too berry-flavored. They were all complex, velvety, and very interesting. Overall, our experience at Cristom was the best wine tasting tour and experience we have ever done so far and we would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning more about wine.
I saw this place to her cellphone
Just 15 minutes away from Salem is hidden this Willamette gem. We stopped by for a wine tasting and selected the seasonal flight (5 wines for $15) that we shared for 2.
This was our very first winery during our trip to Oregon, and it was an amazing introduction to Oregon wines. Holly was a fantastic person to take us through our wine tasting, and she was so personable and friendly. She is very knowledgeable about wine, and we learned so much about Oregon wines and Cristom. We enjoyed the wines at Cristom so much that we left with several bottles to enjoy back home. This winery was still our favorite even after visiting several others in the area.
This was our very first winery during our trip to Oregon, and it was an amazing introduction to Oregon wines. My boyfriend and I were there on a Wednesday, so the winery was not very busy. Holly was a fantastic person to take us through our wine tasting, and she was so personable and friendly. She is very knowledgeable about wine, and e learned so much about Oregon wines and Cristom. She even gave us the perfect lunch suggestion that was on the way to our next winery (Blue Raeven Farmstand in Amity has amazing sandwiches and pies for a quick stop between wineries!). We enjoyed the wines at Cristom so much that we left with several bottles to enjoy back home. This winery was still our favorite even after visiting several others in the area, and my boyfriend who is very into craft beer now loves wine because of Cristom. We will definitely be back when we are in Oregon again!
Great wines and helpful staff
Great wines, beautiful views, warm, personable service!
Excellent wines & an extremely thorough tasting experience. Holly walked our group of 10 through everything from the history of the vineyard, to details about their wines, to all sorts of other wine-related topics. It was easily the best/most educational tasting experience our group received in the Willamette Valley...and we went through a large number of tastings during our stay. Highly recommended!
We had a lovely time at our tasting. We learned a lot about the area's wines and the different philosophies of wine making. Christom's practice of controlling all facets of the process turns out very good wine. We ended up ordering a case of Pinot Gris that beats any other I've tasted. Merry Christmas to those of you receiving a bottle! Famous for its Pinot Noirs (as is the entire Eola Hills region), this winery impresses with its tasting cellar layout, friendly staff and beautiful vineyard. A $15.00 tasting fee, nearly A$40 for two, was a little steep, considering Pinot Noir is not high on our preferred list of wines, so we toured the impressive vineyard instead.
Booked their Educational Experience 2 weeks prior. Greeted warmly. Played a game of "guess the scent". Got a tour of the vineyards. Spectacular views. Went back and tasted more wines with snacks. Felt at home here. We love it. Great wine & a great "Educational Experience". Thank you Gaironn!
Amazing views, great wine and outstanding service!
Wonderful service! Very knowledgeable staff and very friendly. Wine is good! A little overpriced but worth the visit
Carter was great!! He was very knowledgeable about the wine process and the vineyards. We loved him. Plus it was great wine! We will definitely stop again.
I can highly recommend a visit to Cristom, known for its whole cluster
We had a great time at Cristom Vineyards. Jeri gave us a warm welcome, and was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. We enjoyed our conversation, our tasting, the beautiful scenery, and the complimentary local cheese very much. We'll definitely come back the next time we visit!
Recommended by Jack at Back Road Tours. It's one of his favorites and now it's one of ours. Staff friendly and knowledgeable and pours are generous.
Breathtaking views of Mt. Jefferson. Nice patio and grassy sitting area. Walkways through peaceful flower gardens. Delicious wines.
Best wine in Willamette valley by far
Really enjoyed the tasting and history of the winery!
After I posted my initial review, the owner of Cristom wrote me to apologize, and then sent a new case of wine. I accept his explanation that my original note was somehow misplaced. I applaud Cristom for reaching out like this and have upgraded my rating accordingly. Kudos to them. The Cristom Pinot Noir I had consumed at a Portland restaurant was excellent; I hope the coming wine is the same.
We went to Cristom Vineyards hoping to end the day with the best. After ordering 2 flights and a glass of Pinot Noir, Dustin, refused to take a$500 dollar order to ship and and a serve a glass of wine. We arrived at 330 in a limo for wine tasting on a BDay event. We were served a Syrah instead of the Eileen Pinot Noir. We brought to his attention that he had served a Syrah not the Cristom Eileen Pinot Noir and he immediately became curt. As soon as we did this he refused to serve us or take any shipping orders. Service sucks go next door to Witness Tree for better service and wine.
One of the best wine hosts we have ever had! Really enjoyed the tasting and the chat. Beautiful location!
I LOVE Cristom. I love their wine. Dustin was probably a HUGE factor in us joining the wine club. He is SO knowledgeable, funny, friendly and he has the same palate for wine that I do. I have NEVER EVER had bad wine here. Cristom is more upscale than a lot of other vineyards in their pricing. They don't offer you a tasting OR a glass of wine as a member, and I understand why they don't want to cheapen the tasting room experience, but it will pinch the purse a bit more to make it a pop in for a glass if you're a member. I haven't yet gone to any of the member events, but I am really looking forward to it. This wine will not disappoint you, be prepared to pay for it though because it is GOOD wine.
Lovely tasting with lunch. Beautiful view. Wonderful staff who are very knowledgeable and attentive. Great wine! Must Visit!
Excellent wine, tasting room, view, snacks, it has it all... a must stop if you are looking for a winery to add to your "go-to" wineries.
Good wine and a pleasant patio and grassy area within which to taste. Good (but not great) views. $15/pp basic tasting with one fee waived with purchase of 2 bottles. You can buy up to fancier flights and even arrange a picnic. Surprised and somewhat disappointed in the number of wine tour vans/unknowledgeable tourists filing in - the place was much busier than I expected. Nonetheless - a good and tasty experience!
Great views but not great experience. Staff not friendly, pushy and prices are higher than neighboring vineyards. Personally this was a one time experience.
We were invited for one of their release parties and enjoyed it immensely. Great pinots, but their summer rose was excellent and their syrah a show stopper. nice experience. In a little hidden area north of salem and you can visit Bethel Heights in the same visit.
This is a great stop for tasting and a picnic. We have been here several times, and staff has always been welcoming and knowledgeable. We like the variety of pinot noirs from their various single vineyards, and especially the ability to purchase them in 375 ml bottles.
This review is a little late, but my wife and I went there as part of a wine-tasting tour for our anniversary. This was easily our favorite of the day, so much so that it was the only one we bought wine at. They were well-staffed with friendly, knowledgeable people. It was nice to be able to have a good discussion with the staff without feeling like I was distracting them from other guests. The wine was very good and I enjoyed talking and learning about the owners. The setting was typical Oregon winery: gorgeous and elegant.
Lovely midday tasting along with lunch. Beautiful view and setting. Fantastic staff who are knowledgeable and attentive. Highly recommend.
Lovely winery with fabulous wine, great views and nice ambience. We really enjoy wine tasting up here and seeing Mt Hood and Mt Jefferson in the distance.
We had a V.I.P. tour set up at Cristom. It really couldn't have been any better. The vineyard is beautiful, the wine is complex, and delicious. Dustin, who gave us our tour was amazing. He was very knowledgeable, and showed us great hospitality. I can't wait to visit Cristom in the future.
Visited Cristom in July 2017, and thoroughly enjoyed everyone in the tasting room and the Pinot Noir. The property is very interesting, with geography that traces back to the Missoula glacier flood that defined the Columbia River Valley gorge.
