We have eaten here twice. The ambiance and decor is really nice. They have a fun cocktail menu and we enjoyed sitting at the bar for a "date night" on our first visit. Both times we are here we enjoyed the appetizers - we've tried a few different salads and some appetizer specials that were all very good. Unfortunately both times we have been disappointed by the entrees. The schnitzel was rock hard and lacked flavor. We went a second time with guests and had a similar experience - good appetizers and drinks. Two people ordered the steak and the sides were inedible- potatoes were raw. Salmon was also inedibly salty. We hope these kinks work out and feel this place has potential but probably at this point wouldn't return for a full dinner.

Local Eat and Pour is an up and coming Erie restaurant! Get the ricotta toast appetizer and the seafood stew. They were delicious, flavorful and zesty, well worth the price. Service very quick and friendly, all in a welcoming lowlit atmosphere. Perfect for a date or a quiet evening with family.

It was my fiance and my second visit to Local Eat & Pour and we have yet to be disappointed. We love the ambiance, decor, and everyone from the hostess to the server is always so nice and attentive. We started with the cornbread and boy was it delicious!!! I ordered the smash burger and while I didn't care for the brioche bun which is unusual for me I did love the burger and everything else that came with it. My fiance ordered the flatiron steak and it was very good especially the zucchini it came with. Overall, we had a great experience and looking forward to coming again!

I ordered take out from here. My salad was disappointing as it had all mixed greens only, some cherry tomatoes, cucumbers only! I wanted the BIBB LETTUCE! Also no croutons were in my salad. The dressing was good. Not sure if roasted garlic was supposed to be in salad too, which I would have enjoyed. From menu here is the description: house salad / No Dirt Farms bibb lettuce/ cherry tomatoes / cucumbers / Majestic sourdough croutons /roasted garlic & chive buttermilk dressing 9 I also ordered the homemade corn bread. It looked great, but boy oh boy was it too salty! I could not eat it! Overall , not what was expected!

My husband and I were driving him from Michigan back to Massachusetts when we stumbled upon this great, little gem of a restaurant! We started with the pimento cheese and crackers that were served with homemade pickled veggies that were SO good! We both ordered the garden salad with salmon and we both loved it! Veggies were so fresh and the salmon was cooked to perfection. We got the carrot cake for dessert and was probably one of the best we've ever had. So light and fluffy and sooooo yummy! If you ever find yourself in Erie, PA you HAVE to try this place!

This place is amazing! Menu changes every once in a while but everything my friends and I have tried has been great! Would recommend to everyone. Neat space and nice staff!

It was our first visit, and there are many good qualities to mention about this restaurant. Unfortunately, it wasn't what we hoped or thought it would be.Inside, it has very nice decor and ambience. The host and server we met were charming and the most pleasant you could ask for. It also looks nice from the outside, a quality that is good for Erie to have on State Street. The name "eat and pour," resonated with us as we enjoy nice restaurants that offer variety and a range of high quality menu items and locally brewed draft beers to choose from. We didn't realize that's not what this was. When we asked which beers they have on tap, we were informed they didn't have any. All they had were 12 oz bottles, priced at $6, to be poured into a glass. We ordered one anyway while we looked over the menu. It was a small menu, just one page, front and back. I don't doubt these few dishes are of great quality and are well liked by some. Unfortunately, for us there just wasn't enough of a menu to choose something we would like. A couple things came close, but as described, had elements that rendered it unappealing to us, such as grits, or creamed peas, etc.We paid, tipped, and thanked our server for the two drinks, and had to go elsewhere (Cloud 9), as it was getting late and we were quite hungry.Overall, it's not a question of quality, but of selection --- being too small of a selection, type of selections offered, and having no selection of draft beers, as we felt the name implied. However, I wish them well, and the best of success.

Local Eat & Pour is a gem of restaurant, right in the middle of gentrifying Erie.Quaint is overused, but this place is. Unlike many places to eat, the seating here creates an atmosphere of both hidden spots for the shy, romantic, or confidential diners, and also an openness that allow the gregarious to bond.Windows open up the northwest corner, yet deeper into the establishment you'll find a loft with elegant and stylish drapes, a table or two in a rustic quiet environment, and artwork throughout that is well placed and unassuming. It's all so new and clean and alive, but not pretentious.I haven't talked about the food but it's good. It's a menu that is sophisticated, but not overly so. Shrimp, Grits, Burger, and so on.We had an appetizer of spicy pickles. Very delicious.Local is where you have the opportunity to create a moment with a special spot inside, and a special menu item to go with the spot. Then do something new the next time.We sat at the bar and shared a couple dishes and a dessert. We had a wonderful time, spent a moderate amount of money that the ambience more than compensated for and we'll be back, maybe to the loft where we can overlook it all.

A lot of room for improvement.+ Nice atmosphere and location- The food is "meh", ordered Chicken and sausage Gumbo, half of the rice rice was really dry, shedded tiny pieces of chicken, hardly find the sausage and overly salty. The Shrimp and Grits were ok.- Very slow service, even on not very busy evening- You really have to know where to park the car

My wife and I enjoy going up to Erie a few times a year for short retirement getaways - it's only about a 2-1/2-hour drive for us and we have come to feel that Erie is almost like a second home. We typically have one high-end dinner at the Cork, and a second somewhere different. On our most recent trip (earlier this month), and based on Yelp reviews, we decided to try the "Local Eat and Pour" - which we learned was in the location formerly occupied by the restaurant called simply "1201." Well, we couldn't have made a happier choice. The space is a little unusual in that it's longer than it is wide. After looking at the seating options (the dining area was busy), we made another good choice by opting to eat at the bar. The owner, J.B., made us feel very welcome and the young man who was tending bar could not have been more friendly. We split a fried oyster appetizer that was a great indicator of how good our meals were going to be. My wife chose the "seared Faroe Island salmon with creamed peas, bacon and sweet pickled peppers." I opted for the "shrimp & old-fashioned yellow grits with white wine, lemon, garlic and herbs" - and we split an excellent Caesar salad. Sadly, we ended up with no room for dessert. Afterwards we agreed that - in spite of all of the travel and eating out we've done far and wide over many years - we had never had better meals. The Local Eat and Pour will now be a regular for us when we're in Erie. This is a place where the menu is somewhat limited, but the quality of the food is unsurpassed. I was disappointed that the bar was temporarily out of rye (their liquor license was brand new), but the bartender made me a top-notch dry Manhattan as a consolation. If you're in Erie and haven't tried the Local Eat and Pour yet, do yourself a favor, make a reservation and get over there! Oh, and thanks J.B. for the recommendation to have breakfast at the Gem City Dinor. Another winner!

Great look, fantastic service, and the Osso Bucco...excellent. And, the mushroom appetizer with Majestic bread is not to be missed!

I was in Erie on business and a freind suggested Eat and Pour as a place to get a great meal at a truly local restaurant. I could not have been more pleased or impressed with everything from the restaurant to the staff to the meal. My job takes me to many a city and I am kind of a foodie, so I make it a point to try and find local restaurants when I can. I have to say that Eat and Pour is hands down one of the best restaurants that I have ever enjoyed a meal at. The place is the perfect setting for comfort and class and the staff is friendly and well versed in where the food comes from and how it is prepared. The meal I had was as good as anything I have had in many a high end restaurant in much bigger cites. Who knew such a fantastic place was hidden away on State St. in Erie, PA. Do yourself a favor and eat here if you have the chance. not only will it be one of the best meals that you have ever had, but you will be telling your friends about it for a long time. To be honest, I don't usually look forward to coming to Erie, but I will be going out of my way to come back here. I highly recommend the Pork Belly appetizer and salmon salad. Thank you to the staff and owner for such a great experience.

Great atmosphere, great food, great Company. Throughly enjoyed all that we had ordered. The salmon pate, the crispy fried pork belly, and full moon mushrooms on Majestic Bakery bread. Just to name a few delicious appetizers. Highly recommend the salmon entree as well as the burger. This will become a regular place to visit.

Definitely a much more inviting atmosphere than previously. The first thing my wife pointed out was how nice the restaurant was decorated, that it added to the already comfortable ambiance. The food was also incredible and fairly priced. The staff were kind and efficient. We will definitely be back to eat here.
