I've been to the VT quite a few times. It's close to home and we are very limited with sit down dining in our area, so it's typically the place to go if you want to stay local or grab take out. The food is usually good, nothing fabulous. The service, however, sucks. I've been there when it's busy and there isn't an empty seat in the house and I've also been there when it's crickets and there was only one other table seated. No matter the case, the waitresses have no personality and no customer service. And service is sloooow, but we go in knowing that. The reason I am making this review, however, is because of what happened recently when I ordered take out. It was an early Thursday evening, it was not busy. I literally ordered one thing. A chicken cheesesteak with onions, peppers and mushrooms and it comes with a side of chips. My husband ran in to get it and we left. I opened the box on the way home and there were literally 8 chips in the box and a chicken "cheesesteak" with only chicken on it. No cheese, no peppers, no onions or mushrooms. My husband called and told them and a woman told him to bring it back in and she'd have a new one made for me. Awesome. We turned around, he went in and a girl literally handed him a tiny sauce container with a few mushrooms and peppers in it and turned around and walked back into the kitchen. She didn't say a word. Didn't apologize. Didn't make a new sandwich (LIKE WE WERE TOLD). No refund. Nothing. Absolutely ridiculous!! My mother also went in to eat one time and the waitress spilled an entire pitcher of water on the table and my mom. She did not apologize and just handed my mom a towel to clean up the mess. We will never go back again! Such a shame.

When you list a sandwich as a "cheesesteak" it is implied that the cheese is included (like your "cheesburger"), yes? Nope, its an upcharge. Really? Meat was real steak though. Tasted great. Slaw was pretty good.Wife's VT burger ..... what kinda filler did u add to the hamburger? Something extra was mixed into meat like breadcrumbs or cracker meal. Bacon was nice n crisp n bun was great.Fries were all little pieces. ??Waitress was ok. Food came out fairly quick considering 98% of the house was full.

I think it is the best place to eat in this area. The food is always fresh, hot, and very good. The prices are very good. The inside was remodeled ,and it is very nice and comfortable. The staff is pleasant, and your food is served pretty fast. They are family friendly, until 9 pm. The reason being there is a bar, and it is for adults only, after 9 pm. I highly recommend you try eating there, and I'm sure you will go back. The place is really clean, and the atmosphere is very laid back.

I try something different every time we come. Have not found anything I didn't LOVE. Great flavors and textures. Service staff friendly and helpful. Makes one feel good about leaving a nice tip. They totally earned it. Convenient location. Easy parking. Nicely remodeled interior from the olden days. It's a great place to go.
Very nice restaurant/bar food and portions were good ,wings done excellent. Recommend Smith and Wesson flavor.

One can never go wrong with Smith & Wesson wings. Unfortunately for me it's always these wings and either or the Cuban or the Reuben. I have really enjoyed the Club sandwich. When it's soup time the gumbo or the chili hits the spot. A lot of food per serving I order more than I can eat at once so I have something else the next day for lunch
We were looking for a brewery after mountain biking at Raystown Lake, and NOTHING was open. The Village Tavern saved the day! It's not a dive bar. The burger, reuben, and garlic fries were amazing! The ladies' bathroom is super cute and clean. We had a great experience and will definitely return!
