My wife and I visited this place to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary, and we couldn’t be in a better restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and very well taken care of by the entire team. The owner “V” even came personally to greet us — such a kind and gracious person. This is definitely a place we’ll recommend to many friends and acquaintances, as the experience was truly wonderful from start to finish.

My boyfriend and I booked an omakase night here for our anniversary and it was so delightful! The staff and chefs were so friendly and kind, making such great conversations between all of us at the bar. The food was excellent and I didn’t even realize two hours had gone by! Our favorite place for omakase atmosphere-wise!

Great atmosphere. Not pretentious at all was great. Fun mellow spot and loved the food. Liked the mid week shorter omakase meal.

The midweek special omakase was not worth the price, the service was good , but chef was unprofessional, the fish quality doesn’t match the price.

I been wanting to come check this place out for a while now. Came here Saturday night with my friend visiting from abroad and hubby to celebrate. It’s a 23 course omakase meal. Everything was so fresh and tasty. Our chef Carlos was amazing and all the servers were very attentive. They constantly came around to fill our sake glasses. My favorite is the tamago egg. It taste like sponge cake it’s so fluffy

Shoutout to Andy! He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and made the omakase experience so much better. Amazing food and it was super filling. Quite expensive, so definitely for special occasions.

Went here for my first ever Omakase experience. Absolutely wonderful time with an extremely knowledgeable and friendly chef. Was blown away with the attention to detail and care that goes into every bite. I hope to come back again :).

I loved Ogawa! The interior was beautiful and the food was excellent. At 16 courses, this was the perfect amount to leave me feeling full and satisfied. Personally, I don't think I could do the 23 courses.
As someone who has been to most of the omakases in the city, I was shocked to try some fish that I had never had before (white salmon, very cool!)
Chef Andy was friendly and knowledgeable, and I never felt rushed which was great.
My one complaint is that there is a very limited wine selection. There was no white wine on the list and only one glass of sparkling, which was $21 a glass. I don't drink sake, so this was a bit disappointing. However, overall it was wonderful, and I can't wait to be back.

Exquisite. I have so few words for this experience. It was a birthday meal and I had spent a few weeks researching the best Omakase the city has to offer. This restaurant was prominent in social media, but was also featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer that dived into Chef Ogawa’s Michelin recommended restaurant in Washington DC. Raw Fish is very hit or miss for me, and I wanted to give it a proper chance by trying some of the freshest the area has to offer. In this case, many straight from Japan.

Very few of the fish had a strong seawater flavor, instead many were perfect. Some were dry aged, others were brined, and others were braised, all of which exquisitely done. The eel was amazing. The little crabs gave me a fright at first, but was very pleasantly surprised that they did indeed taste and feel in texture just like a potato chip with old bay seasoning. The eel was one of my favorites.

What I will advise is the full beverage pairing, which comes with a highball, Japanese whiskey, and sake tailored for each entree. With Omakase, you’re always taking a bit of a risk that you won’t like something, the definition of it is of course allowing the chef to decide for you. In this case, the success rate was extremely high, enough to justify a visit by someone who sometimes shies away from various fish.

Overall an excellent experience. Wishing everyone well.

My first omakase experience and it exceeded all of my expectations! Chef Andy was so knowledgeable and friendly. The sushi was obviously fantastic. Truly some of the best bites of fish I have ever had in my life. We also did the drink pairing which was expertly curated and explained to us by our waitress. I would 100% recommend Ogawa to anyone wanting to have an amazing evening! Can't wait to come back.

Tried the omakase here and was really disappointed. For $200 per person, I expected something much more special. The fish selection was basic—nothing rare or exciting. They served true toro, but that alone doesn’t justify the price, and there was no wagyu beef at all.

They claim the fish is flown in daily from Japan, but it didn’t taste that fresh. The quality just wasn’t there, and the whole experience felt underwhelming. Definitely not the kind of omakase I’d recommend if you’re looking for premium quality or a memorable night.

Ogawa is our favorite sushi omakase in Philadelphia and one of the best we've had in the US. The dishes are thoughtful and delicious. Chef Andy is amazing and super fun to talk to during the dining experience. Elevated omakase experience without being pretentious. Overall an incredible place!

The omakase here is EXCELLENT!! It’s the best I’ve had outside of Tokyo. The preparation of each course was perfect. There’s also a nice sake and Japanese whiskey menu. In addition to the counter, the bar upstairs looks fun and is more casual.

Me and my spouse did the omakase at the counter. Carlos did an amazing job preparing all the food with his assistant. Just seeing his hands work, you can see the years of experience and training he gained working under Ogawa San in DC. He served sushi prepared in a traditional Edo style that featured a variety of cuts from lean Japanese tuna to sea urchin. Most of the ingredients were shipped from overseas from exclusive vendors and were very high quality. The house staff were very informed on the food and beverage member. One staff member stopped by to chat about the food and was very helpful in suggesting a sake that would pair across the whole omakase. 10/10 experience for the both of us, and I would recommend anyone to experience this place at least once.
