This is not a review of the restaurant but rather a Zoom cooking class with four couples that turned a birthday (mine) into a fun, delicious learning experience. At a time when restaurants have had to U-turn, Dany, Jonathan and the gang are thinking outside the box - or rather, inside it. We picked up baskets of food in the morning, pre-measured, some of it pre-cooked, and several bottles of wine, and had a hands-on, restaurant quality dinner. Dany directed and patiently answered question in both French and English, and Jonathan was behind the camera. Try it! It is the perfect marriage of delicious things you (OK, I) would never try at home (a reduction of Bolognese sauce, anyone?) along with new skill sets and a sense of accomplishment.

Sunday brunch is a set for everyone. So be cautious if you have allergy or vegan. $120+ for two, a bit pricey without mimosa but only regular coffee and a juice choice. The juice is semi fresh when we got there around 1230, being kept in the jar since maybe morning before 10am. I don’t see any table could finish all the food choices. So I got a doggy bag. They replaced my half toast with a new one. I liked it very much. It tastes like donuts ? but it’s not the same. All the bakery is classy but the brownish is the best. Expecting something more on the third dish, chocolate maybe?

Wonderful experience. Exquisite cuisine. Impeccable service. What more can I say?

I have heard about Le H4C for a while and again, they were on my list of restos to try (honestly, i think eating is all I think about) Then they closed! And then they opened again and I wasn't gonna let them slip this time. We decided we'd make the brunch crowd. As they have a fix menu & price for brunch, it makes it all the easier if you have a hannover: no choosing needed. The place is literally steps from St-Henri metro. Blink and you'll walk right by it. Very modern and sleek in style but still warm & welcoming. The staff was nice, though seemed a little bit serious. We were thoroughly explained the menu and certain food restriction was taken into account. The food was a sharing menu. We had 2 courses, 1st being the bread and second being the proteins. There was donuts, brioche, mini pancakes, crumpets, I even got gluten free bread upon request! These were accompanied by sweet & savory spreads: pâté, hazelnut & chocolate, orange purée, avocado purée, cheeses and things. The second course came with an omelette, some fish balls, 2 (very small) ravioli with salad. Everything was great but I thought that the protein portion was rather small for 50$/ person. ***Everything you see in the picture was for 4 people total*** It was a nice experience but they should maybe reduce the 1st course and add more to the 2nd. I think if I come back, it'd be for the dinner but I'll pass the brunch.

Probably one of the nicest and most creative spots in Montreal! The cruise according to the staff, is Nordic with Japanese influences. Dany Bolduc went to Japan for 3 months in order to get inspired and build the menu. Went for a special new year's day brunch, after a long while in which I wanted to go there. Upon arrival, the waiting staff was very welcoming, and gave us a stylish box to put our belongings so it won't be in the way and served hot towels. Since the service included a set menu, there was only one choice for the main course, in which we took the squash, filled with cheese sauce, buratta, egg and baked with all goods. That was probably one of the best dishes I had for breakfast. But before we go there, we had a full first service including creative home made bread, jams and spreads, chicken liver mousse, mini pancakes, orange infused yogurt and granola. Needless to say that everything is home made and you feel it in every bite. The staff was open to give us more bread when requested or anything else. Coffee was also delicious, although they only had oat milk. The toilets were also impeccable, including feminine products and toothpicks.

Honestly, this was one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in Montreal and I’ve lived here my whole life. The service was outstanding, the decor was beautiful and the food was unique and delicious. From Montreal-made serving ware, to starting us off with a warm cloth and a felt bag to put my purse in on the floor, they really went above and beyond. The set brunch menu was excellent and included fresh breads and homemade spreads in the first serving, along with several other delicious items. Overall outstanding!

Went here for Sunday Brunch - no menu - a 3 course smorgasbord of delicious bytes - beautiful restored building and service was excellent - one of the guests has a lactose intolerance and they took such good care to ensure they did not miss out on the experience.

Very fine cuisine with quality ingredients but above all what separates them is the level of research and experimentation to come up with surprising and complex but delicious combinations. You can see and taste the kitchen staff craftsmanship ? Service, especially with the wine selection, was great. An expensive dinner experience but you get one of a kind. Perfect location and cozy decor. They also have affordable brunch on Saturdays.

Went here for an anniversary dinner with my husband and loved every second of it. The ambiance was quaint, with dim-lighting and very low music - the perfect setting for date night. The service was bar-none the best I've ever experienced in the city. From the hostess, to the waiter, to the sommelier and cheese expert, even chef Dany himself came to greet us with a smile. We were not rushed through dinner like at many other restaurants. We were able to sit and enjoy each other's company for a good 3+ hours. Next, the food. There were two options to choose from: a 5-course meal and a 9-course meal. They both have the same amount of food (so the 5 course has bigger portions). We went with the 5-course seasonal menu and chose different dishes each. Each dish was unique and beyond delicious but the octopus.. OMG. THAT WAS THE BEST DISH I'VE EVER EATEN. Please don't miss out on the octopus. This restaurant is gastronomy at its finest. A little on the pricey side after wine pairings etc, but for that special event it was worth every penny. Highly recommended!

From the moment I called to advise that we would be late, to the moment the staff bid us goodbye, our interactions with the entire team at H4C was impeccable. Everyone we interacted with was knowledgeable, courteous, respectful, funny and engaging. However, the service was not the only reason our evening was such a success. The food was incredible! Our table chose to start with a tray of oysters from PEI. They were delicate, with a hint of \\\"the ocean\\\" and the accompanying sauces were inventive and delicious. We followed with the 5 course menu and were pleased with every dish. The gnudi were particularly flavourful and \\\"comforting\\\", the tuna was marinated and seasoned to perfection. The halibut was delicate and moist (not overcooked as it's often the case). Cheeses were delicious and we were happy to discover some gems from Quebec. Dessert was light and refreshing. The ambiance and decor are cozy. Tables are appropriately spaced so that you are not made to listen to your neighbours' conversation. The final touch for me, was the basket which was placed next to my seat: It was designed to hold my purse and shield it from the germs located on the floor. We will definitely go back to H4C; we have rediscovered a restaurant where ambiance, service and food are all equally as important to both the staff and management.

Fantastic restaurant and close to the metro. We went for a brunch and it was super good. We definitely loved that place. A little bit expensive and the experience is worth it. The food was complex and delicious. Staffs are super nice and motivated. The terrasse is super nice. The vibe is relax. I definitely enjoy and will recommend the place to my friends.

Dining last night at Le H4C was an incredible, wonderfully satisfying experience. The intentional, yet subtle nuances of controlled lighting, sound, plating, and use of negative space elevated our enjoyment of the incredible food. My wife and I started with some wine and oysters followed by the 5 course seasonal menu. Dany Bolduc came to our table to describe each of the dishes. Our main server, Jennifer, was an absolute joy. It felt like we were being cared for and served by his entire team; they do a wonderful job of working together. Timing between courses and mini-conversations with the team was well done, creating a dynamic emotional experience alternating among fulfillment, happiness, and excitement. We were there for almost 4 hours and we lived in the present moment from start to finish. The worries of the world melted away during our time there. They effectively created a space for my wife and me to sit, dine, enjoy and connect. One of the best dining experiences of my life. I highly recommend Le H4C for anyone looking to feel genuine joy through their food and dining space.

My partner and I both had the 9 course chefs menu. The first 5 courses were amazing - but then the last four were extremely disappointing. The 8th course, dessert, was over concentrated in almond extract and syrup flavor (Particularly the cold syrup soup). The execution of the theme "almond, rhubarb" seemed too far out of the box and experimental. For the price we paid, it was very disappointing to be let down by nearly half of the courses. Especially leaving with upset stomachs.

Run, don't walk, the food is divine and worth three times the price. It's about quality not quantity but the dishes here are large portions as well as high quality. The Chef's Menu is a must, with strikingly-innovative combinations that somehow also manage to be comforting, i.e. they work perfectly. For $130, you get lobster, osetra caviar, sea urchin, beef, magret/duck, morels, truffles, blue fin tuna...and the list goes on and on. A shorter menu is also available. Apparently, this restaurant used to be a day-time gastropub but now it is similar to a certain Michelin 3-Star restaurant in San Francisco. It's as if each table is in its own dining room. I have no doubt this establishment will soon have its own star.
