Absolutely one of the best lattes I’ve ever had in the area. Cool vibe in the dean lobby

First I should say this is more of a food place than a coffeeshop, at least the branch located at Dean Hotel, which is the subject of this review. We ordered breakfast food here, Deviled Eggs and Stewed Beans, you can check the photos and spot their actual photos and ingredients in there. We also got coffee, which was served like a brunch place coffee; however, it tasted much different from a typical American brunch restaurant coffee.Overall, if you’re looking for an actual coffeeshop with a variety of coffee drinks, this location is not yours. If you’re looking for experimental brunch menus, this is a nice place to try. As seen in the menu you won’t find typical American brunch menu items.Last but not least, this building used to be a church, which was converted to a night club (or something like that), and now it is a hotel and this coffeeshop is in its first floor.

I am a big fan of bolt coffee and love this location because of the character. Not a ton of places to sit but what they do have is very comfortable and it is a cozy environment. I believe is here every time I’m in town and it’s always staffed with a nice barista and offers great pastries/donuts.

Decent coffee here. I got a large drip/filtered coffee for $5 and I really liked the taste. I got some floral hints. It was their light roast from Peru. However, the consistency was very thin, similar to Dunkin’s thinness. Luckily, because of the taste, it was still palatable. Prices are pretty high here. A smaller size drip coffee is $4 and their lattes are $6+.

I was excited to visit this specialty coffee place (inside the Dean hotel, but open to external visitors). They have all the right tools to prepare a great coffee (La Marzocco espresso machine, a scale to measure coffee-to-water ratios, a Puqpress and high-quality beans). Unfortunately, the barista's handling of the espresso machine left room for improvement. I could't help but notice spurts of coffee spraying in different directions from the naked portafilter, indicating problems with channelling. I was unsure whether I should have mentioned my concerns regarding puck preparation to the barista at the time - I didn't want to sound like a coffee snob (it would seem that I am one). Nevertheless, the shop holds promise and it is worth returning for another try.

Visited in September 2022. We loved Bolt Coffee! The single origin varieties were top notch. We had a Guatemala, Columbia, Ethiopia, and a Peru. This is a very cool location in the hotel. The staff were super personable and also educated us about Bolt's history. This is the original location. They have spanned out to several other spots in Providence. Great roasts, fair trade, single origin, high-quality coffee beans for sale, too! One of the coolest coffee businesses I've seen. Bravo, Bolt from Providence!

Wonderful and warm service. The gentleman with glasses who worked here made me the most delicious lavender/thyme/honey latte. The flavours were subtle and he made me a perfect measured espresso shot, he placed such care in the drink. Also they serve Knead doughnuts, delectable and yogurt parfaits. I highly recommend this coffee shop for a quick breakfast or snack.

The "Huntsman" maple coffee drink is really good, not very sweet which is what I was hoping for. It seemed like it could get very busy, but we got our drinks super quick. Very understated, cool

Place is located inside the Dean hotel with an entrance off the main street. The batista was friendly and made a great coffee! I tried the woodsman and the blueberry muffin which was great. There's a long wooden table you can sit at, along with some cushy chairs and couches. Atmosphere is very chill.

People raved about the cappuccinos but we found them very mediocre. Staff was nice and coffee shop, itself, was attractive. But if you are going for the coffee, recommend Ellie's instead.
