I had the distinct pleasure of having lunch at the Charleston Surcee Company while I was visiting from NYC, this May 2017. Surcee is absolutely charming and epitomizes the term “Southern Hospitality.†The owner, Christina could not have been more accommodating. You can tell that she takes pride in her culinary skills and loves taking a creative approach to cooking. The food was delicious! You cannot leave without having one of her delicious desserts. I had a brandy infused cake that was Amazing! If this alone weren't enough – you can also SHOP! It's called Surcee for a good reason. I bought several things including a beautiful Unicorn Dragon that lights up (it's electric). It now sits on my dresser and I turn it on each night and it reminds of the charming lunch I had at Surcee.

Fantastic shrimp salad. Eclectic and charming place suitable to the "ladies who lunch" which is not me, lol, but welcomed with all the same Southern charm. Definitely will lunch here again. It's a shop as well so don't be confused about looking in the door and not seeing tables.

I NEVER post on here but my lunch just now was so amazing I had to! My mom took me to lunch to celebrate surviving the summer and back to school for my child. We ordered the bruschetta of the day - herbed goat cheese, spinach and balsamic tomatoes and it was out of this world. We also split the warm egg salad sandwich (which sounds weird but was amazing). We finished with one of the best coconut cakes I've ever had with fresh cream and fruit in a balsamic glaze- which also sounds weird but just close your eyes and eat it. I promise it was amazing. This lady knows what she is doing! I also spent way too much money on merchandise in the store :/. As you can imagine the clientele is heavy on the older women but clearly they know something we do not! Such a great and unexpected experience!

This is a wonderful shop and cafe. Items to purchase that make unique gifts and the atmosphere oozes Southern hospitality. The food in the cafe is absolutely delicious. The Jimmy sandwich and pluff mud dessert are excellent. Can't go to Charleston without spending some time at Surcee.

I ordered the Coconut cake for my moms birthday and I have to say - after a big dinner we each managed to find room for a big slice and we cleaned our entire dessert plates. We then had a slice for breakfast...(from what was left from a midnight, early morning snack from husband). From presentation to the final bite - 5 stars. Can't wait to go back in to do some shopping!!!
