The food is ok but not great. They charged us for extra chips because we had more queso then chips. No paper towels in the ladies room and could be a bit cleaner. Staff was great but not enough to bring us back. A little pricey.

Huge disappointment last night at La Cantina what used to be a whimsical experience Now an overpriced dirty unkempt place I believe it's had its heyday worst steaks ever in a restaurant the chef was complaining he couldn't breathe do not waste your money. We didn't bother complaining because we'll never go back but literally couldn't cut the steaks so tough and I ordered filet mignon and my husband a NY strip neither were those cuts of meat...no one even asked if steaks were cooked correctly... It's sad to see such a decline of a cool eclectic place but even sadder we paid over $50 just for the inedible "steaks" Positives are wine was good prices reasonable and server was efficient and pleasant. Olive and cheese appetizer good too. Unfortunately all good things come to an end at some point...

We were there for over 2 1/2 hours and 45 minutes of that was waiting for our bill. You’d think it was because the restaurant was busy, but that was not the case. The Horno steak was ok, but very fatty and hard to chew. The vegetables came out cold. Honestly, the best part of the meal was the mashed potatoes. Definitely not worth the money...or drive. Would not go again.

When you drive up to this place you’re not sure you want to go in but don’t be fooled. The food is artfully prepared by a seasoned chef in an outdoor horno! My steak was perfect. The chef also entertained us while we ate. Very eclectic!
The place is dirty, curtains were crusty with dust. It is a very, very strange place. They have cheap wine and you do not get a choice on salad dressing or sides that come with the steak. My steak was cooked correctly but very fatty, had a good flavor. I loved sitting by the horno oven outside since it was cold but wood dust was dropping from the roof. We went there for the ventriloquist show and he said there were not enough people (we had a party of 8) and there were four other people there, but he sang 3 very strange folky type songs. It was obvious that their purpose was for you to watch their show before cashing out but we were ok with that since that is why we came. Before watching the show, my friend went to the bathroom and saw a mouse stare at her. While watching the show, we saw a mouse run from the kitchen to the bathroom several times when watching the show inside. Two of the desserts that were offered, we thought, were on display without any covers near the bathroom (in one of the inside dining areas, where people walk by to go the the bathroom). We thought they were fake and one of us touched them (since they did not have covers). They were real. When we ordered our desserts, the desserts on the table disappeared. The dessert table was near the bathroom, near the mouse. They charge 18% gratuity, require cash, could not provide change conveniently and then proceeded to rush us out since we were the last ones there (at 10:00pm). I will never go back.

This little place was really a neat place many years ago. Sadly, no longer. We were there 3.5 hours and had to literally beg to get our bill so we could leave. The steaks were either burned or pouring, no matter how we ordered them. I could hear the staff talking of how they had no idea who’s steak was who’s. After waiting over 2 hours for them, we just ate the sides. The best part of the entire meal were the mashed potatoes. When asking the owner for help to get our bills so we could leave he told us the calculator was broken so it was difficult and how Jesus walked on water but he didn’t ask for separate checks? They only accept cash but had no change so we had to pay by check. It was spooky, dirty and just an overall bad experience. I hate it because I was hopeful we had another place to dine. The place was great back in the day, but that day is long gone.

Surprisingly delicious Mediterranean menu! Custom built outdoor oven provides very special meal preparation, especially the steaks. Would highly recommend!
