This place has nothing don’t waste your time
Just an average chain at best. And its dated. Rooms are small and not set up well. Even though I am an Elite member I was given a substandard room. The parking lot (which is terrible by the way) was empty, so I know the hotel was empty and I was not offered any upgrade or even a better room. And there is no breakfast or even complimentary coffee or tea. And no daily housekeeping due to Covid??? There are better choices when visiting Uof SC..
We stayed for one night to attend the USC vs Missouri football game. Got a great rate. We were upgraded, at check-in without asking (platinum), to a one bedroom suite. It was nice to have the extra room. Everything was clean. Bathroom on the small side. Plenty of free parking. Staff was very welcoming and friendly.
We had a pleasant experience at this hotel during Covid and felt staff were taking precautions and doing an excellent job keeping things clean. Within safe walking distance to food and drink. Front desk was helpful and friendly and room was clean. Onsite parking was a plus.
Stayed here with my wife as we dropped off my daughter earlier for USC sorority stuff. The hotel is great proximity for all events at the school but needs a bit of updating. We stay in many hotels yearly and this one really just ok. The price was a little high considering Covid time.frame and other offerings close by . The staff was very friendly and helped us with a minor issue of changing rooms when first one was unacceptable. I might think twice about staying here again. Rooms need to.be refurbished .
I’ve stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown USC on two separate occasions this summer for a total of 2 weeks. Both rooms were clean, cozy, and well equipped. I truly appreciate the free covered parking, especially in inclement weather. The food was average with a limited menu. Benjamin K., at the front desk, is the most hardworking, professional, and kind staff member I have encountered so far as an Ambassador Elite member. He effortlessly went above and beyond to make me and other customers feel valued and comfortable. Ashley Johnson checked us in and although I didn’t see her as often as Ben, she was warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional as well. There were so many services that were closed or limited due to COVID, but Ben made me and my family’s stay in Columbia feel like home. Thank you, Ben—you are a rock star! For family or business, I now prefer to stay at this Marriott location compared to others in Columbia because of Ben and Ashley. Sincerely, Tonya and Ali Tehranie June and July 2020
