Unfortunately Lucy bells is closed. In the same location however the former chef is about to reopen Geneva‘s joint! She’s going to feature the same amazing food that she formerly created. She’s going to be opening mid June depending on paperwork. We are very excited to see what she’s going to do with this amazing location!

The place is closed down. Nothing moving here! Grass a foot high and it looks abandoned. Only one place to eat on the island--The Old Daufuskie Crab Company. I hope you read this before you waste your time driving over there to eat!

Arrived for lunch after picking this place due to the reviews to find it closed. Building looks dilapidated.

This little place was beyond excellent! Geneva greeted us and told us all about the specials and what they were out of right away. We ended up ordering a bunch of different things, and everything was outstanding. The peel and eat shrimp was some of the best I've ever had! They also had a great outdoor seating area under a beautiful tree with a little shade. Absolutely loved everything about it! 5 stars!

I visited today as recommended by a local woman. After waiting in line for about 15 minutes, I arrived at the order counter. I ordered, then told the gentleman I was not in the tour group. He said, "We are just taking orders for the group, you will have to get in line behind them." There were about 15 people in line with the tour group. I decided not to wait and left due to this rude treatment. There was also a sign on the door, "Any moron who is not vaccinated must wear a mask. Only 5 people in the store at a time. No questions, no arguments." While this doesn't apply to me, it sure set the tone I experienced when I tried to order lunch. Oh, and there were sure more than 5 people in the store.

All four of our meals were delicious! We ordered the Deviled crab cakes, 2 orders of fried oysters and the Lucy Bell burger. All finished our plates. JJ makes the best fried oysters I have ever tasted. The owner was warm and friendly and the food delivered fast. If you have one meal on Daufuskie, recommend a stop here.

We traveled over on the ferry for the day from Hilton Head and got turned around in our golf cart but finally arrived at Lucy Bell’s just before they were ready to close at 3. Geneva told our party of 4 to come on and follow her inside and she would fix lunch for us before they shut down. Great Cajun crab cakes and grouper sandwiches! Geneva and JJ in the kitchen were the best! Our visit to Lucy Bell’s was the icing on the cake for our wonderful visit to the intriguing place that is Daufuskie Island! Thanks Geneva & JJ and Lucy Bell’s for your warm welcome and great food!

LISTEN!!! You must eat here. Geneva and Brad make you feel at home and the food is fresh, fast and honestly absolutely delicious. We had The deviled crab, onion rings, peel and eat shrimp, the salad trio (chicken salad, shrimp salad, pasta salad). If you do not like celery do not order this. Fortunately I love celery, it was so fresh and crisp it must be grown out back. I would not have guessed it but the Burger was amazing as well. Oh and that Pimento cheese dip!! This place is not on the map you get from the general store, make sure they mark it for you it is like finding a treasure.

All I can say is WOW this is the quintessential Daufuskie lunch spot. The tables under the Spanish oak are just a beautiful place to enjoy a meal. The food is amazing! The staff is nice and super fun! We had everything from cheeseburgers to blackened redfish and I don't have a single complaint about any of it. Please do yourself a favor and try the shrimp tacos or should I say shrimp tostada. They are probably the best thing I ate during my whole trip. I can't wait to return. We ate lunch here almost everyday bit was so good!

Wow …. What a great little place. Everything we had was amazing. Mahi mahi sandwich, chicken salad and pimento salad … shrimp tacos. All VERY good. You should definitely stop by.

Lucy Bell's is our go to spot for lunch whenever we are on Daufuskie! Always a delight to catch up with the quick witted & charming owner, James. There's nothing pretentious about the place or the menu - it's genuinely Southern: warm, welcoming, fresh & delicious. Can't wait to return next year!

The greens were so so so good! I went and got a second order. I was really looking forward to the deviled crab but honestly they were kind of fishy tastings. If you are on the island I would make a visit here.

Lucy Bell's was the most authentic experience on the Island. Once you try their fresh sea food you will not want any other kind of seafood. Nice seating outside and inside, especially for the size of the business. Very personable and friendly. Out of our entire vacation to South Carolina, my daughter said visiting Lucy Bell's was her favorite part of the trip!
