Great service but horrible food. I tried the Garlic Cheese bites and I threw up not too long afterwards. The overall taste itself wasn’t the worst but no where near amazing, and the cheese was hard. The rest of my family said the food was mid. I do not recommend eating here.

Friendly bartender named Matt took amazing care of us all night and wasnt rude when they were closing and we were still there. He allowed us to finish our drinks and we realized they were closed so we quickly left but he was as sweet as pie and never let our empty glasses go without a quick nod of approval, he quickly refilled them. Excellent service!!! Gotta love a bartender that introduces themselves to you right when you sit down at the bar.Parking: Entire parking lot right in front of establishment.

Delightful evening at Tavern on 6. They have a nice outdoor seating area with heat lamps and last night, live music. Host and server were great. Delicious food, try the pimento cheese brûlée, way far from healthy but yummy. Note for veggies - not an overwhelming selection, but there are a couple of options.Vegetarian options: Salads 2 or 3 including a beet one that looked good, vegetable flatbread pizza, brussel sprouts

The food was impeccable. I had never had pimento cheese before and the contrast of the warm smooth cheese and the broulee was an unexpected joy for my palate. The filet and the burger were cooked to perfection. There was not a speck of either left on the plate The brussel sprouts were crispy and the fries were the best I've had. I would highly recommend the prosecco with a shot of pama. The staff here was friendly and conscientious, consistently checking on us for water, drinks, checking the food was as we wanted it and making sure we didn't need anything. I am from out of town and will be back my next time here. Everything was beyond my expectations and I will be recommending the Tavern on 6 to anyone coming through Irmo/Ballentine area.

Tried this place for the first time tonight. My wife and I started with a Chianti and an appetizer recommended by Molly, our server. App was a melted Brie with roasted tomato. So good! Molly suggested the shrimp and ribs. The ribs were drizzled with Alabama white sauce. If you’ve never had that, you need to try it! I had the mahi-mahi on a bed of wild rice. Baked to perfection. Almost forgot their homemade pickle slices that had just a little spice kick to them. Molly was a really enjoyable server too. You could tell she like her job and was good at it.

My sister wanted to go to Tavern on 6 for her birthday. Since she had been there before, I suggested that she call to make the reservation. It was going to be my sister, her husband and myself. I was treating. When she called to make the reservation for a Thursday evening, she was told that they did not take weekend reservations and they considered Thursday evening to be the weekend, which we thought was a little odd. So we arrived at the restaurant on her birthday, a Thursday, at 5:35 p.m. The hostess asked if we had reservations. We told her that we tried to make reservations, but were told that you did not take reservations on a Thursday because that was considered to be the weekend. She was shocked and said they take reservations for every day, even the weekend. We were then told that our wait would be 35 minutes. No remedy for our inconvenience was offered. My sister was very upset and angry. It was an UNHAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Our party of four enjoyed a return visit to Tavern on 6. Our service was quite good and the drinks were enjoyed. The wine list is somewhat limited but ok. I had a bowl of French Onion soup which was very good. My wife had a black and blue salad which she enjoyed. I had a salad with ahi tuna and soy ginger dressing was excellent. The restaurant is somewhat loud, but warm and inviting.We enjoyed our visit and will return.

I had the tavern veggie flatbread on the gluten free crust and added sausage. It was delicious. The menu has a variety of food options, so it's easy to please everyone at the table. The atmosphere is welcoming and the service is great. I will plan on coming back!
