If you have not tried Marcelo's I suggest you try them they have the best food. We have been here a few times and they never disappoint. We went there for lunch Sunday and even though it was just the owner Marcelo there (he said he can not find anyone who wants to work on Sunday) we still got great service and it did not take long for our food. I also have a Service Dog and the Marcelo has always been so accommodating and making sure I am comfortable along with my girl Phoebe. I can not say enough good things about this hidden Gem, the owner, and his work staff. Do not be discouraged by the outside as it might not look like much but once you walk in and taste the food you will think you have eaten at a Five Star restaurant.

This restaurant is the best in town. Don't let the humble building exterior keep you away. The interior is immaculate and tastefully (not fancy) decorated. The food is exquisite. I had mofongo stuffed with pork and garlic sauce and it was delicious. This building does not have very good signage, so it's easy to miss it from the street, and that's unfortunate. Use your GPS, and plug in 2151 W Meeting Street Lancaster S.C 29720. It will be well worth it.

My husband randomly found this restaurant while searching on a map in our surrounding area! We live in Chester and wanted to try something new, and wow it didn't disappoint! Delicious food! I got the Dominican Flag with beef stew -- amaaaazing! The rice was cooked to perfection. Marcelo was so kind and friendly, the prices were right and we enjoyed ourselves so much! Can't wait to go back!!

It’s a best kept secret for amazing and delicious oxtail!!! I’m pretty sure it’s the best I’ve ever had. My husband ordered ribs and the meat was so tender and tasty! We will definitely be regulars. Starting in two weeks they are going to feature “to go” bbq ribs and oxtail on the menu every Monday from lunch to close.

Delicious food and plentiful. Friendly service and tentative waitress to make sure everything was correct and just right. We'll be back for sure!

We went here for the first time tonight. I had the snapper, delicious. My husband had the freaky hamburger, again delicious. Fabulous food. So why the 4 stars? The place is beautiful inside. It's a cross between fine dining and McDonald's. Drinks are served in paper coca-cola cups. The snapper came with no sides. I added on a grilled asparagus. Very good. What would have made the meal perfect would be a side salad and some dinner rolls with a glass of white wine. I would have paid more. The servers were very good. Friendly, fun, attentive. We will be back and will recommend this place to everyone.

The host was courteous and the food was delicious. The spirits bar will add to the great atmosphere. I hope Lancaster hurries the process. Wine would have complimented the already great steaks.

Went with my dining mate for lunch. This is a rurally located restaurant, unassuming building front but certainly worth the visit. Once inside, one finds a spacious, simple and comfortable setting. The waiter was extremely attentive and eagerly answered all our questions. The menu had a nice selection of appetizers, salads and entrees. There is a mix of American, Carebean and Cuban dishes. Something for everyone's appetite. We ordered the guacamole with plantain chips, the freaky burger ( cheese, bacon, fried egg, etc.) and a roasted chicken with carrebean spices, rice and beans, corn, potato salad and fried plaintains. Everything was delicious, good portions, plated nicely and hot food came out hot. I wanted to substitute my french fries that came with my burger and I was able to order mixed veges instead. Prices reasonable. We will certainly return and try other menu choices. Such a great find.

Please give this restaurant a try ! From the outside it doesn't have much curb appeal but they're working on that . The inside is quite charming and immaculately clean ! But let's talk about the food . Eight of us went for breakfast and it did not disappoint ! I had a ham and cheese omelet and it came with a choice of hash browns or grits , a biscuit or toast ! It was absolutely delicious. Fresh , and made perfectly. The other orders were light and airy pancakes with bacon , the pancakes were the size of a dinner plate and raved about , a bacon egg and cheese biscuit sandwich , another omelet with sausage and eggs perfectly cooked over easy . We were all very satisfied and had a delightful breakfast . Definitely will be back and the prices are very very reasonable . Waitress was super sweet and the cook knows his stuff . A true gem in a quite little town . Give it a try - you won't be sorry .
