Best food Iâ??ve had in South Carolina. This place is the real deal, good home cooking and all the southern favorites. Wonderful service and genuine charm, this place really stands out from the rest. All around GREAT food with good size portions at a very reasonable price.10/10 would recommend
What a wonderful spot! The food is absolutely amazing. Seafood shop right next door where we got fresh shrimp and fish that they fried up for us. The chicken livers were incredible, we also loved the cole slaw and collards. We loved it so much we went back on Sunday for the Turkey necks cabbage and dressing. YUM! Cant forget about banana pudding seriously the best ive ever had. Eat here, youll love it!
Hamburger steak the best...moved here from CT and had to travel back home just to get some good mac and cheese.... then u guys came along and saved my life..matter of fact omw to eat there now

Wonderful mac & cheese, greens, & banana pudding! I'm always on the search for a new meat & 3 with down-home cooking. This place definitely fits the bill! I'll be back soon.
The soul food was so delicious, me and my family will be returning!
Delicious food and great service.Best soul food in town!
Salmon patties were on point. Pinto beans were great.overall experience was great
Best fried chicken in Spartanburg, hands down!
Really between a 3 and 4. I will edit this later. I liked all the sides and price, especially the potato salad, mashed potatoes and greens, but I wasn't a fan of the hamburger steak. Trying a different meat might raise the rating.
Great family business! The food was delicious and tasted just like home cooking. My family and I will definitely be back!
the staff itself was wonderful. the food was out of this world. would love some more but where did yall go from Rodgers bridge rd.

Hello Mrs. Glenda, Your fast and friendly service was greatly appreciated on November 25,2018. Most importantly it was very professional and I will definitely be back to visit your 462 W Henry St Spartanburg, SC location . I had the baked Chicken Breast, Mac&Cheese, Potato Salad.,Collard Greens, Tiger Woods.
Best food around, very friendly staff that always has a smile on their face and treats you like family. Typically they have two specials for lunch, when in doubt the hand made cheese burgers always hit the spot paired nicely with fresh cut home fries. I would recommend it anytime you're in the area.
Yummy country food and the staff is super friendly as well.
I will try to describe how good the food is here.
Have been twice first time came in and got table finally got waited on after other tables was service that came in after we did. Tried a again today same thing two other tables order was taken that came in after us, so just left today. Don't think I will try again.
This is the BEST SOUL FOOD Restaurant IN SPARTANBURG.. I had the pleasure of eating lunch here when I was visiting Spartanburg, I kept hearing people raving about how good the food is here. When I got there I got to meet the owner Francia she was so nice & welcoming . I ordered the hamburger steak over rice with collard greens , macaroni & cheese and corn bread.. the portion size was incredible and the price was so inexpensive.... The flavor in the food was delicious , I could barely finish my food. THIS WILL BE MY GO TO spot when I come to Spartanburg..
IMO - Best Soul food in town! We have always had their fried chicken - cannot wait to try the roast beef though! I absolutely LOVE the mac and cheese and fried okra. My Husband loves the collards and said the corn bread tastes like cake! Do not forget to try the dessert! MMmmmmm good!!!
I fail to understand why a business can post set hours, but not adhere to them. I called on a Thursday three weeks ago to ask what time they closed, the young lady told me at 8:00pm. I arrived at 7:00 to find out the restaurant was already closed. No big deal, guess it was a slow night. The same thing happened the following Wednesday. Figuring I would give them another try, since I have heard some great things, and not so great things about the food. I figured I would go back on a Sunday. I heard they get quite packed on Sundays, but I figured I would wait, just to try it out. But I guess out of 52 sundays in a year, I just happen to pick the Sunday they were closed. I thought they would be open, because it was Easter Sunday, and that's a day where everybody attends church..but how wrong I was. Not one to quit trying to easily, I tried one last ditch effort today. I called at around 12, the young lady said they would be closing at 6:00pm.. Good I thought. Only to pull up at 3:55pm to locked doors..as I was getting ready to leave, extremely frustrated at this point, a young lady and young man were bringing out old grease. I asked if they were open, and was it a mistake that the doors were locked. The young lady said no, we closed at 4:00 today. Even though it wasn't 4:00 yet and the posted hours say 6:00. The man began to explain that Saturday is their slowest day. Well maybe you should consider closing all together that day if you gonna close early. Maybe that's why it's the slowest day, cause people think you are closed. Most restaurants fail within the first year because of inconsistency, so if the lady ever wonders why her business is declining after the newness of the restaurant wears off, it may not be because your food is not great, it might be because no one knows when you are open or closed. Can't have customers if you not open during the time you allotted to be open..
This place was amazing. Fried chicken tasted just like my Godmother used to make. The greens were perfect and mac n cheese was super rich. Great portion sizes for the price. The signs about your food being made fresh were very funny.
fresh soul food and the reason why spartanburg will always be better than greenville! always packed at lunch, locally owned and operated, amazing food and lemonade
