Atmosphere was fun and old fashion. Service seemed okay. But chicken salad needed mayo of which she brought. Serving sizes are wonderful.

Sherry took care of us on a gorgeous April afternoon while we listened to live music. We got a spicy bloody Mary and it was phenomenal! The Aloha Pizza was really great too. It had pulled pork (soooo tender and juicy) and bbq sauce on a wood-fired pizza dough. Will definitely be stopping in again!

We always love The Whistle Stop at The American Cafe! The train was running around the top of the walls which the twins enjoyed. We all enjoyed our dinner and had eight happy food lovers. We had grilled chicken sandwiches; delicious beef, potatoes and green beans; fried chicken and fries; chicken salad sandwiches and homemade cake and turnovers. The service was fast and excellent with our server, Wendy! We will definitely be back soon. Looking forward to the music and food on the upper deck this summer!

I was really impressed with the Whistle Stop. I brought my dad and he really enjoyed the atmosphere with the train memorabilia. The menu offered a great selection and the entrees were priced lower than I expected. The food was very good. I had the sea bass (pictured here) with cheese grits and Brussel sprouts. The grits were amazing and the Brussels were sweet and tangy. My dad had fish and Chips and loved it. Portions were generous and the staff was super friendly.

Went for a quick lunch and ordered the creamy potato soup! While the flavor was decent the portion was surprising for 8$ a bowl! I went to take my first bite and when my spoon hit I was shocked!!! It was basically served on a plate!!! The burnt cornbread served with it was thankfully replaced and was delicious. Just a disappointing experience! Service was great luckily!

We went here to try something new. We had a very long wait time to order drinks. This should have been the indication that we should go somewhere else. The restaurant was not busy at the time. My wife ordered a salad and a soup. The salad never came. She thought the soup was average. I ordered a pizza. It was almost 20 dollars for a pepperoni pizza that was a little smaller than a normal sized dinner plate. The pizza also was probably the worst tasting pizza I have had in years. They advertise it as wood fired pizza but I seemed like it was worse than a frozen pizza and cooked in a toaster oven. I am sure they might have good things in the menu but it wasn’t what we ordered.

There's a reason this place has won an award for best themed restaurant!! If you're a railroad buff, you'll enjoy everything they have on display, and the menu with railroad theming too! Food was good, service was great. What a neat little place to visit!

My family ordered take out here and everything tasted excellent and it was all well packaged too. We got the pretzel, the pork chop, the BBQ chicken and two of the salads. All the meals were delicious including the sides they came with. The rolls are a must-get also. Definitely will be back!

Nice little restaurant with a good selection of dining choices. The staff was amazing - friendly, attentive, and worked as a team. I had the daily lunch special, a lobster poboy, and the flavor was very good! It was fresh lobster - not frozen - and you could taste it! The roll was perfectly toasted and the veggies were fresh. I would go back!
