We had the worst experience ever here! Half of the menu items were not available from the get go and a couple of the items which they said were available initially and was ordered after a twenty minute wait were told that it was not available. Our orders were mixed up too. Food was substandard and nothing that lived up to the description on the menu or as reviewed online! And to top it off there was a homeless guy under the influence of what looked like drugs leering at us from the window where we were seated and was harassing us and making us and our kids uncomfortable so much so that we thought of calling the cops ourselves as the rest of the staff did not seem to be bothered at all. Our server seemed genuine but she was probably not getting any help from others. We will never venture close to this restaurant ever again.

Our waitress was outstanding. It was not busy to speak of. Appetizers were great. Problem was it took over an hour to get our appetizers. Then a little over the 2hr mark our entries started to come out. 1 by 1... $48 dish with 5 small cubes of protein that were cold...not warm. Cold....next chicken dish came out and it was absolutely bloody not close to being cooked. Next dish came out fried to a crisp you couldn't even bite into it. Just unacceptable those dishes left the kitchen for the price tag and typical quality of that restaurant. We sent it all back and just got out bill for the apps and left. They treated us fair and just made us pay for apps and drinks. Gave us one free drink about 1.5hrs in for being patient. Once we paid and walking out it was right under 2.5hrs. Very disappointing. We go to tally's once or twice a month and typical have a good experience. The waitresses did an amazing job trying making the situation as best as she could but had zero control over the kitchen. Super professional. We Felt bad for her. Something was off in the kitchen. Hopefully it gets fixed. It will be awhile before we go back.

As always the food and service was excellent. We invited two other couples to join us for Pork and Pinot Tuesday. They were also very impressed with the creative and delicious food and accompanying wine choice.

I had a potential terrible experience last night at one of my favorite Rapid City restaurants initiated by a rude & overbearing hostess. I showed up 10 minutes early for my 5:30 reservation and requested a window table. She informed me that they were all reserved and when I glanced back at the table NEXT to the hostess stand, it was available!! I said this will work fine and that set off her child-like attitude. I informed our waiter, who was phenomenal along with the Pork & Pinot pairing, as they always are at Tally's Silver Spoon. She stepped over the line as she brushed against my back every time she passed behind me with the finale of using the corner of the menus she was carrying on her last past! You have the wrong person as a hostess, she would better serve this establishment as a dishwasher!!Now I have been informed that because of the hostess feeling she had to right to treat me with a terrible attitude when I requested a window seat, I am being blamed for her intended child-like response (just read what I previously wrote above}. Is this the unacceptable behavior you are referring to Ben?? I thought at least you would have the decency to address me directly with what actually happened, I assure you there is more to my story I withheld which includes deliberate physical contact INITIATED by your "small statured sweet little lady"!! Stop and take pause. Ben, you sound like an activist searching for a cause! There are too many great eating establishments in this area for me not to miss your less than stellar line-up. I guess I happily walk away from your establishments, Ben, learning apparently a patron, with a reservation, does NOT have the right to ask for an available window seat after being MISINFORMED by the hostess that all were reserved!! Great standard?? or whatever you promote. Anybody who really knows me will most likely disregard this incident, if not, feel free to discretely reach out to me. Have a blessed life. After living in the GREAT Rapid City since 1988, served on several philanthropic (look this word up Ben!!), member of several service clubs, donated a house to Habitat For Humanity (did not see that one coming ?), I have visited several Downtown merchants since my debacle at Talley's Silver Spoon (Ben, did you know these posts are World wide... Universal if you believe in aliens? Ask Elon his humble opinion!! Look up the word "humble"!!), I want to caution all to bad attitudinal management of the Klinkle family!! Please look at Ben's fallacious response to my 1st post to get the full Klinkle list...read the one - three star reviews(PLEASE take the time to review these and the common denominator is "bad attitude!") for his little RCpresence! .....maybe it is NOT MEBen!! Don't get " Klinkled" like I did just asking for an available window table at 5:20 pm, 10 minutes before my online reservation, walking into a practically empty restaurant!! Reasonable Expectations to all..Pork & Pinot Tuesdays at Talleys I enjoyed for 3-4 years for a treat....Patron BEWARE!!!You have been warned!! Again Ben, you and your "fam" have a Blessed Life!!! I sleep well at night, do you??P.S. Stop with the harassing daily phone calls to my Dental office from Talleys listed phone number with real people calling!! Are you ready for this response Patrons?? You might want think twice sharing your personal info!!

This used to be my absolute favorite restaurant in town, in fact I’ve easily told hundreds of people who were visiting my hometown to eat here. While I’m back in town and tried to go in for breakfast today with my father, and things have changed for the worse. The experience started off with the hostess stating both that the bar seats were open seating and that they were on the waitlist following it up with “it is hard to explain”. Without a clear understanding of the policy we were waiting inside for bar seats to finish closing out their checks, as it’s February and cold outside. We were waiting just inside the entryway/doors, along with another party of two, and after a couple minutes we were told we had to “wait across the street at Starbucks”. (Please note Tally’s is not associated with Starbucks, the Hotel Alex Johnson, nor Liv Hospitality.)When we were told this both parties, along other restaurant customers, expressed confusion about by this. The other party then asked to speak to manager, in order to verify this policy and after a few minutes (in fact I had already sat at two bar seats that opened up) the manager Dee came over reiterated the policy and said we all “had to wait at Starbucks”. I proceeded to verify with Dee that Liv Hospitality, the owner of the Starbucks, was aware of and condoned this policy, and Dee proceed to explicitly state that they had permission to send customers there and that “nobody else had ever complained”. (Based on other recent negative reviews calling out this policy, Dee blatantly lied about this. I’ll also update this review after verifying with Liv Hospitality, if they are in fact aware of this policy.)When one of the other gentlemen stated that if they were forced to wait at Starbucks they wouldn’t be back, Dee responded “that’s fine we don’t need your business!” (This was said in a spiteful and condescending tone.) She then proceed to demand that all 4 of us leave the restaurant and wait across the street, even though 6 bar seats (2-1-2) were available along with multiple other tables. Not to mention that we were already sitting at two of the seats next to friends I knew who were eating at the bar.Based on this extremely negative experience and massive customer service failure, I can no longer recommend Tally’s to people. These policies and the attitude of the management is a great way to run off long term and very loyal customers. It will also do irreparable harm to Chef Klinkel’s reputation. In order to help address these shortcoming. First, ensure your policies are clear and implemented with consistency with regard to bar seating (as my friends that were eating at the bar said it was open seating when they arrived 30 minutes prior.)Second, if Dee’s statement about not needing loyal customers is the official position of Tally’s Silver Spoon and Delmonico Grill owner Chef Klinkel, I would be shocked based my prior conversations with him and his commitment to both his restaurants and reputation. If this is in fact not his position, this point of view/attitude of his staff needs to addressed; as a number of recent reviews have cited a similar position/attitude from various staff members.Third, directing, in fact demanding, that your clientele essentially trespass and wait at a competitors business causing their seating to be occupied is improper. Especially when it is misrepresented by management that permission has been provided for this to occur.Fourth, Dee is not equipped and should not be serving in the role of manager nor in any customer service capacity. Not to mention that she was willing to lie directly to customers about items which are easily proved false with a quick google search.

I really love tally silver spoon for years. The foods good and I always recommend it. I feel like good quality over the past 10 years has changed. Also our male server seems very displeased and impatient with us. I’m pretty displeased with the automatic tipping. Maybe if y’all paid yalls employees enough there wouldn’t have to be automatic tipping. Plus I would’ve left more than the amount it automatically tipped. It’s just kind of strange now a days. No longer homey I wonder if they sold the business.

Do not miss this restaurant! There were 4 of us and we had the Indecision special. When you order it, everyone in your party has to order it. My hubby is a meat and potatoes guy, so we thought we might have to order something else but our server Hannah said she could request meat forward. We had 4 courses. The first was a lemony shrimp with butter lettuce and blood orange pico de Gallo, then a kale salad with roasted parsnips and lardons. Then walnut parmesan pork with fried sage. The last was beef with a veal demi. Everything was so tasty. The portions were smaller, but my husband is a big eater and sharing my meat portions with him and the Princess Fiona dessert we were just fine. Definitely planning on going back. Service was excellent and I'm dreaming about the pork and sage and the veal demi. This was the most delicious meal I've had at a restaurant in a long time and all of our party agreed.Parking: Parking is definitely limited. Snag a spot as soon as you see one, or get there a little earlier.

AMAZING! When you come here get the 3 course indecision menu. You will not find a better deal in the whole city for 45 dollars. A delightful experience as the chef delivers their choice of dish from on or off the menu. I got a strand and lobster dish, a delightful salad, and a sea bass dish! High quality cooking and high quality ingredients! Service was fantastic with speedy refills and low wait times. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also quite nice! If you are in town make a stop here for a wonderful experience!Vegetarian options: Everthing is cooked to order.
