Calhoun's Banquets & Catering

Our experience, from start to finish, was excellent. We arrived 15 minutes prior to our reservation and were immediately seated. Our server was attentive, friendly, and helpful. My wife had the 14oz ribeye. Wow! She loved it and even let me have a small piece. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly. You could practically cut it with a fork. My ribs were lean, tasty, and perfectly sauced. I had the blue cheese grits as a side item, and that was a great choice. The only negative was that we ate too much and didn't leave room for dessert.

Excellent as usual. We eat at Calhoun's every time we go to Gatlinburg and love Calhoun's On The River in knoxville.

Waitress was a little scattered slow to bring drinks and bread. others were seated and served that came after us. Still love this place.

Our server Antonell was amazing. The food was great. This was our first meal here, will be returning soon!

This place was a joke; seriously worst food ever and service was not that much better. I ordered California chicken sandwich and it was so dry; I could have dunked it in water and it still would be dry. My side was a Caesar salad; lettuce was wilted and the dressing tasted bitter and just a lot of mustard. Hubs order 1/2 slab ribs and side of mashed. The mashed were decent but the ribs were inedible. Dry and the seasoning was not good. The sauce, I can't even describe it. Bitter and bland is pretty much it. Daughter go kids combo which was ribs and chicken fingers and a side (she chose Mac and cheese). She's a Mac and cheese snob and always asks if it's Kraft and the waitress said it was homemade. It was terrible and tasted like Kraft where the noodles were overcooked and you spilled 1/2 the cheese powder package before you got it in the pot . She ate the chicken but wouldn't eat the ribs. Waitress was awkward when she was at the table but wasn't present often. Drink refills were slow. Best part of the dinner was my cosmo (which took forever “they had to make an ingredient because they were all out” and the breadbasket. Do not waste your money here.

We visited Calhoun's in Gatlinburg for Christmas dinner. It was a great experience. The staff were kind and helpful. Our server was fabulous!!

A solid choice in Gatlinburg - always something for everyone. In a town full of rich, greasy foods, I appreciate that I can walk in here and get grilled chicken and a vegetable

We love Calhoun's. Food was delicious. Server was overwhelmed due to Christmas Parade crowds.

Our seat and service was good, but the food was not so great. Also I had put we had a birthday on the reservation for my son and nobody ever said anything about it. Disappointed in our visit.

Pretty disappointed. Came here because we heard the ribs were good, but they were super chewy and hard to get off the bone — didn't enjoy at all. Hardly any flavor either. Service was really slow, and the drink menu wasn't great. The wine options were especially bad. Overall, not worth the hype.

I celebrated my 79th birthday with you on 11/1/125. Since you opened I have made a special effort to be there. I currently live in Atlanta and have for 40 years. Ribs are my favorite birthday splurge and I brought my daughter and granddaughter. I also celebrated my 50th birthday with you and my father was with us that night - so it has become a special place for me. I have celebrated many , many birthdays and dinners there. I have traveled all over the world and have the means to go anywhere I choose to celebrate occasions. I have always chosen to come there. This was possibly the worst meal out I have ever experienced anywhere. To be honest the ribs were fair but cold.. The bread was not hot - would not melt butter and tasted stale - my cornbread was surely days old. My fries were soggy and limp. My granddaughter was served cold Mac and cheese that was bottom of the last of the pot. Nothing came out hot. I explained to our server who must have told someone then someone apologized much too late. It left a bad taste in my mouth that I can't get past and a terrible memory I CANNOT get past . What has happened? This is awful -I may not ever come back , but I hope you can fix this, you have lost a lot of and not just me as a customer. Joanne Burch

Restaurant was nice but the ladies restroom was out of paper towels. We ordered our food and when it arrived we had no silverware. The food was barely warm when it got to the table and it was even colder when we finally got silverware. I left a note in open table that it was my mom's birthday and we were celebrating. Not one mention from the staff about her bday. One guest ordered a coke after a cocktail and the server never came back to the table after dropping of the coke. We had to flag down several people to pay the bill. $3.60 for a soft drink that never was refilled. Very unimpressed with our dinner and the service.

We made a reservation about two months in advance for seven people. I also included two high chairs for our grandkids. The hostess was not very accommodating on helping us have a table together even though we ate at 5:00 PM and the place was empty. Not very friendly!
