We were exhausted, hungry and frustrated trying to find a spot to eat that didn't have a long wait. We spotted Shoney's and decided to eat here mainly because we knew the youngest in our group would be able to find something they would eat. Imagine our surprise when we found they had a buffet at a cost that was half of other places! There wasn't a large amount to choose from but, boy oh boy! What they had was spot on! I had fried shrimp, fried chicken, corn, green beans and mashed potatoes. All of it was hot, fresh, and seasoned to perfection! Our server was attentive and kept our tea glasses full. The restaurant was clean and well kept.
Kid-friendliness: They offer a child's menu with several items to choose from. The portions were generous.
Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is split with dining on one level and the buffet on another; however, they have a ramp for easy access to the buffet.

Service was amazing, especially with our large party of 11. The food from the menu was very good and everything came out great. The buffet food was just ok.

Food was really good, big portions if you order off the menu. They have a buffet if you'd rather do that. Service is spot on and friendly.

Had lunch there yesterday. Grandson's chicken tenders were spoiled or rotten? Inedible. Waitress removed from the bill. Husband and daughter had buffet. Strange meat (?) burned and fatty. Corn sweet and not eaten. Husband able to eat "fair". My sandwich was very greasy but ate 1/2. Bill over $70 for 3 of us!! Never returning.

I give two stars only for the server. Very limited menu or buffet and the buffet wasn’t good and made the three people who ate it in my family spend the night taking turns in the bathroom. Do not go if you are expecting a regular Shoney’s

I want to start off by saying our waitress was very kind. We didn’t have any problems with her. We came about 11 am so breakfast was still on the buffet. Since I am not a breakfast person, I ordered chicken tenders because you can’t really mess that up. Well… they did. These chicken tenders were the most awful things I have ever tasted in my life. They tasted so foul and old I could not eat them. Even the appearance of them was a turn off. I ate about 3 onion rings and called it quits. Paid the bill and left to get food somewhere else. The menu is very limited and basic but they could at least have decent quality food. I definitely wasn’t happy that I spend $14 on chicken tenders I couldn’t even stomach to eat.

Not worth the money we spent. My burger was cold, and had no sauces on it. Dry, yet the bun was soggy from the grease. They offered no sauces with our fries, the fries also had no seasonings. The chicken tenders were disgusting.
Do not eat here. Wanted to order off the kids menu due to stomach issues which I explained to our server Chris. He demanded I show a card to verify my stomach issues. I told him that unexplained stomach pain isn't something to "have a card for". Chris was rude, unempathic, and not someone who should work in customer service fields.

We were asked at least 3 times how many were in our party before being seated. The menu is very limited, not many choices. The chicken strips were not good, tasted like they had been freezer burned and then put in the microwave. The waitress was friendly but not as attentive as I would have liked. The turkey club was decent. The sweet tea was funky.

Loved my experience at Shoney’s Gatlinburg; I’m a sucker for a good buffet and this certainly delivered! Becky was a fantastic server who made sure me and my group were all good to go; great spot for some good food!
