The Sewanee Inn is a great option if you’re visiting the area. It has a lovely lobby with a fire place and lots of cozy chairs to lounge in. The restaurant and bar was lively from 4pm to close and everyone working was very friendly and helpful. I love that there are trails you can walk to and they have bikes to take out. It would have been even more fabulous if they had spa services! My only critique was the beds/ pillows are too soft. Otherwise book your stay!Rooms: Very nice and comfortableNearby activities: Hiking, golf, tennis, bikingWalkability: You can walk all around Sewanee so you can see a lot without a car. Trails, golf, university…

I photographed a wedding at Sewanee Inn a week ago. The venue was beautiful, all of the people were lovely and kind. The Inn is gorgeous, the food was wonderful... I loved the extra touches like the sugar scrub in the bathroom, the lemon water and coffee in the lobby, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff... there's not a single thing I could complain about. It was truly lovely.

We dined for dinner recently, and were frankly blown away at how wonderful our meals were. The pork meatloaf was so unique and fabulous. My friend got the lambchops in a pasta broth that was outstanding. The service was fabulous too. We will back again and again.

Slightly more expensive than the chain hotels, but so worth it! Five star experience, excellent staff and the best meal I've had in a long time! We will be back!

This building is stunning. We journeyed here on a crisp fall day. I can only imagine how gorgeous this is with a coating of snow. Parking is aplenty with a large private lot. We arrived right at the first seating for dinner on a Sunday. Our waiter was lovely. The decor was beautiful. The old lodge feel of the place is very cozy. The only reason I removed a star is the food. Nothing was revolutionary. Food was fine.

This small hotel is really gorgeous. Self parking in a large lot to the side of the hotel. Everything about the hotel is upscale, the common areas are really upscale and classy, and that carries over to the rooms. All the staff we interacted with were pleasant and went out of their way to ensure our stay was flawless. We had the pleasure of staying in an executive king suite. Large bedroom, really big bathroom, and a large separate living space. Two sofas in the living room. Unfortunately they were not comfortable - they were fold out sofa beds and sank really far down. Otherwise the furniture, as throughout the hotel, was very high quality and nicely maintained. Two desks, one behind each sofa. Wet bar and fridge. Easy to connect Chromecast or other devices to the tv. Curtains don't close in the living space, though there are sheers for privacy. Fortunately there's a door so the bedroom can be kept very dark. Rooms can be kept reasonably cold. Large walk in shower, the bath is made accessible with grab bars everywhere, which I really didn't mind. Generous supply of quality towels. The suite had a large wrap around patio with three sets of rocking chairs and side table at each turn. Unfortunately, most of the large patio primarily faces the busy road, only a small section right by the door to the patio faces the golf course. Breakfast each morning was in the restaurant, simple continental, with a hot tray - one morning sausage and biscuits, another bacon and french toast. So really a decent start for your day. We enjoyed the stay very much, though on our next visit I think we'd switch to the deluxe king room. Though it's smaller and without a separate living space, those rooms are more facing the golf course, which is very pleasant, and still have private patios or balconies.

Great views and service. Room has all the nice amenities and soft beds. Sheets are a little thin and it gets chilly at night so bring an extra blanket. Breakfast has a nice variety and coffee available in the lobby all day.Walkability: Nice 10 minute walk to campus

Google listing this inn as a 3-star hotel is a crime. This place is 5-stars across the board. Incredible staff, from bellmen, front desk, housekeeping, food and bev. We were catered to like family. One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. Ever. If you have a chance to stay here, don’t miss it.

The beds were very comfortable, and the hotel was tranquil! You literally only hear crickets while sitting on the balcony at night. It is a small hotel with a very personable staff. We loved having dinner at the bar. Great food and fine service.

Mr Beavers greeted us at the door. Exceptional hospitality. We had a rather large family gathering, and the service was impeccable. Everything was excellent.

We were greeted upon arrival by 2 door attendants. Nice touch. The inn itself is impressive. The cathedral ceilings, wood paneled stairwell and walls, and classic decor throughout gives one the feeling that might be comparable to a stately European hotel. The interior is impeccable and clean. There are various sitting areas in the hotel lobby. There is comfy oversized seating with a picture window that faces the back of the property towards the golf course or optional seats right in front of the fireplace. We stayed in the King Deluxe room on the second floor overlooking the golf course. The balconies are very large with privacy between rooms with a panoramic view of the golfers and course below. The bed was super clean and comfy. It was a nice large room that provided everything we needed and then some. Extras like an umbrella and yoga mat were appreciated. It was super quiet. There is a restaurant attached and is casual and lovely as well. Our server was very accommodating and friendly. The food was delicious! The ambiance is quiet, classy and peaceful. It really feels similar to a retreat. We hope to visit again.
